failed to connect to server

2 days know failed to connect to server what is going on can somebody fix this or cf just don't care and people spend money here and they just collect it and don't care about us players

  • Idk, if it's a Windows 7 problem but i'm experiencing it too.
  • I'm on Windows 7 - 64, too. No problems with my Windows or my computer. If you try to connect to one of the more busier servers, you get an error message of can't connect to (MM) servers. If you try to connect to one of the servers where there's hardly any people or games at all, then you get in.

I'm sure this may have something to do with how busy CF may be with everyone wanting to get the 300% GP points, etc., but, a lot of us are being hung out to dry & we do NOT get the 300% GP points. I've tried both days, too, & it's the same lousy issue.

I hope CrossFire extends this 300% GP points deal for a few more days to make it FAIR for everyone who's NOT able to "connect to their servers".

    Thanks for your time,

PS: Plus.... what's up with the "My Clan"/Clan" page? It's not wanting to show up at all, & the link Saiden or whomever the chief is, doesn't work either - and no, it's not a browser issue. Please fix it. Thanks.

PSPS: And no, I'm not a "noob".... I've been playing CF since it was practically invented.

PSPSPS: Please stop adding new maps, new weapons, & new swag! Spend your time working out the bugs & getting rid of hackers once & for all. This would mean so much more to people if we had a fair cleaner game to play then getting a bunch of new crap while the same problems are persisting.

The solution is to change your IP address. You can do that by unplugging your router for 5-10 minutes or downloading Hotspot Shield and changing it through there. You may have to change it a couple times before it works.

The browser clan page is down because they are making a clan 2.0 thing which will most likely only be in-game. They closed that.

Tried & no dice.... still same "no connect" issue continues. Thanks anyway. Next! lol

I knew they were trying to make this 2.0 thing.... just didn't realize it was going to take this long. The "in-game" clan page doesn't allow me to go fully to the page to see who's trying to join our clan, or to approve them, etc.. You get only basic sight of your own stats & that's it.

CrossFire used to be a great game back in the beginning for the first few years. Now it's turned into one giant cluster fart with one problem after another. Z8, please return to your roots on CrossFire!

Yeah they love to take their sweet time. They just want our money.
  • Here's all of the things I tried and they did not work:

    1) Port forwarding using the guide on this forum both on my computer and the router

    2) Setting MAC address manually on my computer

    3) Can't change IP Address of my router, because they have a lease and so it is not possible to do manually

    4) Reset router and modem settings

    5) Upgrade router firmware

    6) Turn off modem and router for a long time and then re-connect

The only thing that works if you get this error is using a VPN software like Hotspot Shield, SoftFlux or Private Tunnel.

Why VPN works is basically you are connecting to a server (preferably U.S.A east/west) and are assigned an IP address from there.

If you try using a VPN and connect to a Montreal (canada quebec) server, then it wouldn't work.
  • I had the same problem a couple weeks back with windows 7. The game only worked on a different IP when connected to my mobile wifi hotspot instead of home internet.
The only other thing I can suggest is using a proxy server (HotSpot, which is completely free). You'll get a random IP in the US and you'll be able to play CF NA.

    Link is here: http://download.cnet.com/hotspot-shield/

I don't believe simply resetting your router will allow you to play. Download hotspot, but go through the custom installation (not the recommended) and avoid the extra addons. When installed, the program opens in the bottom right corner of the screen, choose America/united states as a location and you should be able to play cf. But first see if you can play with a mobile wifi (if possible), then that should confirm that HotSpot will work.

Yup thats exactly what i did. Hotspot Shield works.
