Unable to Start the Game.

I am an old player and I remember playing the game back in 2009.

However, after my several year break, I come back and the game won't start.

Here is what happens:
Double click Icon. Crossfire window comes up.
I click Play and then Xfire does it's thing.
The appearance of my desktop changes and windows gives me an alert it is adjusting it's appearance for the game.
The appearance switches back to its original appearance and then nothing happens.

What's going on and how do I fix this? I really want to come back and play with my Silver AK
