Hello!
Hi!
Myself and my friends are new to the CrossFire Competitive scene and we were just wondering if anyone could give us a link to competitive rules and information on the competitive scene. I noticed the forums don't really have any information on stuff like that so if anyone could help that would be awesome!

Hey, nice to see some new faces! My names Kyle "Zzxq" I am a caster and Head Admin for ESL Crossfire Events for this version of the game. If you have any questions or need help getting involved feel free to ask.
Here is a link to the current ESL Page we use:
http://play.eslgaming.com/crossfire/north-america
Also there is another host (ESG) That has events going on throughout the year as well. -
Right now there are two major leagues that run tournaments. ESL and ESG. ESL runs weekly tournaments, Zzxq being the Head admin. ESG runs tournaments once in a while. They are just wrapping up with their "Winter Warfare" tournament which was ran single elimination style. The best person to talk to about ESG is [Mod]Polleus
Be sure to talk to both admins about running the anticheat as it can be a bit tricky. Best of luck -
Good luck.
The rules are pretty simple, here's a good "rule of thumb" list:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vSRAVqj9vSZPvazVGgccvsCZTfej5rpFlTMngJps39g
Pretty much every rule covered on that webpage is true for both leagues (ESL and ESG), except ESL doesn't allow combat axes.
The two leagues are ESG and ESL.
ESL holds weekly cups with 150 dollars being awarded to first, and one "monthly final" a month with a thousand-dollar prize pool.
ESG holds events every other month, and generally has a prize pool of around a thousand dollars.
The CrossFire Stars qualifier is going to be held this Spring, in which players will compete for a ticket to the international LAN in Asia. The prize pool for that event tends to be upward of a quarter of a million dollars.

Basics:
Competitive scrims / matches are played on the North America 5 server, in channel 8.
Peek advantage is huge in CF. If you peek them, you literally see them first and can shoot them before they see you (it's a weird mechanic). Vice versa; if you get peeked, they see you first.
Most people in the community here are terrible human beings, so just ignore the stupid ones. -
[MOD]Polleus wrote: »Greetings! Everyone has pretty much covered the basics for you already. Just wanted to say hello. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I'm the Event Admin over at ESG.
i have a question a really honest question
is cf really competitive ? does everyone follow the rules in regular scrims to practice for upcoming tourneys ? scrimming community active ?
because we are from a really organized community look this is the forum that we use in soldierfront competitive scene does cf have a similiar organization ? :
https://playugn.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?fid=2
we have a clan ranking by skill level colors etc we are really organized
do we have anti-cheat provided for tournaments to prevent players from cheating ? -

Our Anticheats are horrible, But nonetheless we do have them. -

Scrims aren't important or signifcant, and rules aren't strict in them. Not the most active competitive scene but you'll find scrims later in the day
The anticheat for ESL is a joke, and ESG is sort of questionable (won't get into that) but there are anticheats -

awwww why isnt it important or signifcant tho ??
people dont like challenge in cf ? -

people dont like challenge in cf ?
Scrims are more for fun than competition, and the people that take scrims to such an extent that they think winning a scrim is synonymous with being the better team are usually not very good
Also I doubt people cheat on the clients, but anyone can if they want to in ESL -

i mean yes we scrim for fun but why clans in cf dont have a motivation or a challenge to be somewhat of a better clan ? and practice to be a top clan ?
i mean look cf could have something like this so clans challenge themselves to be a top clan : https://playugn.com/forums/official_na_competitive_clans_ranking -

Clans are the pub side (clan server), and they try winning clan wars to get a high clan rank
Scrims are for the competitive side in NA5 channel 8, and can be done with a full team or with ringers. Teams don't have to be in the same clan. There's really not much you can actually work on in scrims other than team chemistry since setups and strats are more on the fly
Just so you know you'll probably get called a cheater if you do good, or sht talked if you don't -

ok i get it now but is it active [ talking about scrims] ? how many 5v5's during weekdays ?
and why people who scrim in NA 5 ch8 just dont make a team and make a clan to scrim ?
i mean thats how your clan ''team'' could get known ? -

People do make teams, but making a clan isn't a necessity (although most the time they do make a clan). Ringers are just used when your team isn't on and you're bored.
The competitive scene is usually pretty dead until after 6 pm est -

Me and a teammate made this video to show Peek advantage. All you really need to know and many times it's worse than this example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkhL_JxKrvo -
Actually, that's one of the worst possible examples, since most people have lower than 80 ping...
Anyway,
there are generally 5-6 teams on per night. This community is comprised of roughly 9 active teams total, with 4-5 other teams which disband and reform weekly. -
