Problem xtrap

Hi z8games support you asked me after some failed attempts to post a thread here with info,

Well step by step this is what i did and my comp specs as well

First the new patch came out and after that my problems started.
I started crossfire and xtrap gave me the message" code: 01-0400-00000000-701 the game security module cannot run propperly."
After 10 seconds this pop up appears "timed out waiting for intialing xtrap engine " two choices ok or cancel. both do the same nothing.
So i tried everything you suggested so far everything that`s on the forum.
I even have completly wipped my harddisk and reinstalled windows xp which is my operating system xp sp 3 to be percise.
My system is a dell dimension dv051 it has an celeron 3.06 ghz cpu and 2 gb ram operating system windows xp proffesional sp 3.
I even went as far as deleting my anti virus for a while tot try if that had any effect but still i can`t start crossfire.
If you want any additional info please ask me i`m would be more then glad to do so.
Hope someone knows the solution to my problem.

THis is making me mad, everyone is just saying re-install and delete iexplorer and pull down you firewall and turn off you virus protection.... X(

NONE OF THIS WORKS BTW!

Z8 really need to do something about this, because its not my cpu, its the game.

Earlier I was playing just fine.... and then I try to get back on and wa-la another error. Since I have played there have been many errors, and all of them have tooken FOREVER for z8 to notice and try to fix

-Im getting the same error
"The game security module cannot run properly."

and then like 30 secs later it say something like..."X-TRAP Engine timed out" or something...

and cheers to yet again ... no help..

yea im getting the same thing i dunno what to do and its starting to fustrate me to no end, ive been at it for 12 hrs now, continuesly, trying to get this to start but noooo crossfire ruined it for me

same for me i was online playing at like at 2 am my time thn i loged off went to bed for 7 hrs then i work up n tryd to log on and it sayd the game security mode cannot work properly and i tryd all day to fix it and to make it run n now its been almst 20 hrs of me getn the same error message. what is up with that and someone help me pls

Fix

The problem seems to be with Comodo, but i found the solution (no need to uninstall Comodo). Open Comodo and go to the Defense+ tab, then on the left side go to Advance and select Defense+ Settings, once there select the option "Deactivate the Defense+ permanently (Requires a system restart)" at the bottom and click Ok, it will ask for a restart click No. With this done you can now go play, when finished go back and remove the check mark just like it was before. I tried this because I remembered for some other game that used GameGuard, Comodo was causing a problem with the Gameguard version they where using (it restarted your computer) and this was the solution (until they fixed it later).

Not sure if everyone that has the problem has Comodo but those that do have it try this.

ya i dont have comodo and i have the same problems as ever one else and try wat ever one else says to do and still nothing its the patch that got up date today that is wat the problem is acording to ever one else

this happened to me too.
i have mcafee.
and my computer is just fine.
i dont know whats wrong z8 cmon i missed the easter slaugther

im getting the same error aswell and im not even running an antivirus and my windows firewall is off.. so ive no idea whats causing the problem
