Why are you hating on it? Just because of its name?
I like neither European nor American football, but if I had to choose, I would go for the American one. Yes, it is complicated and the ball isn't orb shaped, but normal football is totally ruined by its players. All that acting...

Also, I prefer a game of short eventful sessions over one with constant eventlessness. But that's just me. My point is, there are people on both sides. If you don't like it, it is your choice, but let people who enjoy it have their way too.

    Acting? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqXOTSB7FPc

Some of the most gruesome injuries come from football. Alright, you had your moment. You can leave the competitive forum forever now. Buhbye.

As for you not liking either sport, all I did was call american football a pseudo-sport. On top of that, I wasn't being 100% serious. Why so butthurt?

I have a hard time telling if you are sarcastic or serious.

This video proves nothing. All I could see was an example of bad sportsmanship. In American football if he was acting like this, he would be banned from playing for the whole season. Also, he really caused injuries, but the inflicted players - even if in pain - were in more cases overreacting. I understand the motive behind it though. They wanted him to get a red card.

Apart from the video you can't deny that in most cases players in football are faking enormous pain, even though the inflicted damage isn't that bad.

Calling it a pseudo-sport is clearly looking down on it. I don't know what makes that better.

As for the butthurt part, it sounds quite comical. All I did was defending a much hated sport. I see this debate on a daily basis, but I usually don't bother joining it. This time I made an exception.

Football isn't really hated, but you are.
  • I have to admit: it was a ridiculous catch.

One-handed, off-balance, that's pretty insane. Saw it this morning on reddit when a buddy linked me.

    Thanks for enlightening me
  • I enjoy both American football and "soccer" (aka football). I will say that in terms of skill, soccer requires much more skill and technique than American football (where all you need is 300 lbs and some decent eye-hand coordination).

Blame the players union. If a player gets injured because the NFL "didn't do enough" then they can file a lawsuit. Many retired players have filed lawsuits because they received concussions leading to mental issues from head to head contact. It's sad to see an offensive player now lower their head to force a foul on the defensive player.
