CF crashes when entering map loading screen

hey all,

my crossfire client keeps crashing without a notification...
my problem was following:
i start cf..G4_box opened...i klicked green start button...entered pw...entered server...entered channel...entered room...entered game...and then when the loading screen appears it chrashed and an error message poped up saying: Crossfire Error send error report?

i started the game in win 7 compatibility mode and it crashed without this message but very often
i started it in win 8 compatibility mode and it keeps crashing but not that often any more... and of course without any messages or notifications...

i tryed google but didnt found anything helpfull...

i reinstalled cf, i restarted my computer, my system definitely can run cf and i really dont know what to do..

intel core i5
kingston 32gb ddr3 ram
gigabyte gtx 760 4096mb ram
samsung ssd 840 pro 256gb (here is the crossfire folder)
seagate 3tb hdd

And there is no more information about the error in the error-message?

...i´m not used to win 8 and random crashes are hard to fix...

Is this a new problem and you have played the game before without errors? - or are you new to the game (first tries)? - edit: a "german-account" - so you have played before

Maybe someone using win 8 can give you better advices...


some hints:

- check all your hardware drivers - mainboard, etc. - especially the graphic-card-driver.
In the Nvidia panel is also a "new" setting called "shadercache" - maybe change the setting and try it...
Also you can play around with the other Nvidia settings - 3D, resolution, scaling, etc. ... - if it changes the error behaviour.


- look in the event viewer of your OS - maybe there is a entry/warning/error displayed at the time CF crashes.

Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application/System. Click "Application/System to view the list of events.

...maybe you can find more information about the problem this way...

witch error message? xD the clue is.. there is no error message anymore since i am running cf in compatibility mode for win 8^^ it crashes on desktop and is completely closed.. randomly
i played before without errors yea i am 1st Lieutnant so you can think of how long i am playing^^

i'll try your hints later on i am not at home now

I have this same issue but I can't seem to get mine to work. When you see the error and if you wait long enough it will give you shaderlegacy.fxo error.

Please help, I miss Crossfire
