Crossfire crashing

I have a problem with the game. I can load crossfire and all. I can get into the lobby and choose a game to join, but every time i join a game it closes on me. The screen shrinks and remains black. When i click on it it tells me not responding and if i click a couple more times it just closes. It never even opens even if i wait. so what could be causing this problem.

Do you have a Vista? If so, then just wait till it does respond. Vistas tend to do that.

Anyways, I've experienced this issue before on my laptop [Which I don't go on anymore hence of the charger being overpowered] but it didn't enter the game engine or anything. It just shrank to a lower screen and froze.
BS right? .. I have to play on my computer hence of this situation.
