It makes sense precisely because snipers are long range weapons. This could help snipers in a sudden encounter with an opponent a few metres away from them.

However, such a weapon being put in the game would cause a riot. People using snipers in general hate the idea of bringing meeles in a sniper fight (and I can very well understand it).

I'm against it simply because such a weapon would be way too OP. It would be worse than the VIP m4s.

i just thought of it because of the knifers, mostly a defense it would be hard to use offense cause the rifle is heavy and your moving slow anyway. well, just an idea

About bayonet on sniper rifle.The only sniper rifle fitted with a bayonet lug is the Russian Dragunov SVD. Other than that they do not exist from what i know. The bayonet at least gave you some sort of weapon when you ran out of ammo. The bayonet was not attached when firing as it affects the balance and accuracy. So maybe if you want to see a bayonet on a sniper rifle you will have to invent one

I dunno about this ... You would need another mouse button or key to press to use the knife / bayonet... What they could do is to make the same animation of the DE VIP ( when you draw the DE VIP he slashes with the knife without having to click or press any key / button ) but the bayonet would be quite useless after that so ... -1

better yet.. a pistol attachment on it's underside. Making it auto toggle with pistol when not zoomed.

It will be hard, how can you knife? You can't use the right click of your mouse because you need to scope in. If you usev another button it will take to much time. Bad idea in my opinion. You can Always switch to knife.

haha, oh yeah, g drops the gun, i just hit it automaticly, i dont know then, i know there is a button somewere we could use.

and its faster then pullin out the knife cause its already there

be cool looking to use a ww2 era springfield or something with a long as spike style bayonet, nothing knife like, this rifle should be old school, but just one cross hair like the dsr not two like the awm, and hit the f button for the baynet from the scoped in site would just jab it forward, it would be sweet as hell to surpise a knifer like that
