Clan list

hey I'm new to this game and this competitive side of CrossFire. I would like to know if there's a clan list that determine the skill of the clan just like this https://playugn.com/forums/official_na_competitive_clans_ranking
I used to play Soldier Front 1 competitively but it seems that the competitive side of Soldier Front is dead. Just wanted to explore new things/games in the world of FPS games.

  • Even though you would think it would be logical, the clan ranking here isn't based off of skill (not anymore at least), even though it was probably intended to be. Either way our main clan page is being upgraded at the moment and will continue to be worked on for the better part of the next few months, so you might not have the luxury of finding a suitable clan that most of us had.

Your best bet is to get to know the people on the forums and more specifically the competitive side. If you want some quick opinions you could just message me and talk.
  • I don't know a lot of people who still use that. I haven't used xfire since 2010 haha.

Damn... I see, so is there like a communication program beside the forum?

Most clans use voice communications software like Ventrilo and Mumble. Some also have thier own clans pages, facebook, ect... It depends on the clan really.

But other than the forums the best place for having general discussion with players in in the game itself.
  • To find the best teams in CFNA look at the ESL standings. They go by points earn from their placings in tournaments.

As of right now Instinct is going to South Korea for Crossfire Stars in December.

Why would he want to fine the best teams xD

    Team > clan

That is where the real talent is.
  • Yep, the entire web clan page is currently down for maintenance. It'll be for awhile, a couple of months projected. But in all honesty, clans ranks were never determined by skill, for the most part. There were very few legitimate clans that didn't farm/boost their ranks. Overall, the majority of the cfna/uk player base is composed of mainly casual players.

Hm, I actually played some soldier front 2 a few months ago. Wasn't a big fan of it, didn't really like it. CSGO seems to be the title game out there right now, I'd say Warframe as well for pc. But then again I'm not a huge fps fan, I'm more drawn towards the moba scene. Welcome to CF though.

The cfna competitive scene is pretty much dead/on the verge of dying. Very little competitions that actually offer a significant prize pool, lacking overall developer support and attention. Internationally, there's CFStars (a google search should do). ESG/ESL (the current leagues we have here) seem to be the only organizations that is at the very least, providing competition. The competitive channels that used to offer tons of scrims is close to being empty, unless it's Friday night or the weekends.

    What?!

ESL gives weekly prize money and ESG has a large prize when they have their tournaments.

There is a lot more prizes now then there was a year ago.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear enough... lol

I'm referring to the lack of overall support (prize money) when compared to large scale tournaments of other games out there. I'm sure I don't have to elaborate on that, right? Plus we can't forget about wcg, can we? Can we confirm here that wcg offered much more money than ESL, ESG, and perhaps even CFStars combined? I'm not even talking internationally, just nationally/locally within this community, within this game.

    more $$$ = expansion

That's what players play for; money. If there isn't money, or players aren't getting money, who's going to bother sticking around in the long run?

Oh... Sad to know that :/ but on average, how many scrims/players are there everyday?
I wanted to start CrossFire just because my old game, Soldier Front 1 competititve community is on his way to be dead, game's is infested of '' Laggers '', Filipinos are invading our servers due to their server got shutdown, which is one of the main reason why Soldier Front is in that current situation.

WCG and CFS offer the same prize for CF which is $50,000 USD for 1st place. It sucks that WCG is gone but CFS is here now holding about 2 international tournaments a year.

I guess our friend Purvis here could probably provide a more accurate figure of the competitive scene than I can. I'm rarely on this game anymore, you'll find me mostly on the forums while playing other games.

To be fair, most games do end up going downhill one way or another. A lot of times it's region invasions, as you mentioned; laggers ruining game experience. Here in cfna/uk (as well as every cf version) there is the infestation of hackers, waves and waves of them actually. Plus there are some minor bugs/errors that add on to concurrent problems. We could go on for days about all of them, but let's not.

My xfire is visible in my signature. Feel free to add me and drop me a message if you need my help. I'm usually around on xfire after 3/4 pm cdt until late night. I'm online all day on weekends.

Gotta have to point out something here. They both offer $50,000 USD for first place. That means CFStars has not yet financially improved to match a global-hosting organization (WCG, which has been officially gone for over 9 months now). And let's be real, fifty grand for 1st place, which is expected to be claimed by a Chinese or Korean team. I hate to be critical on something like this but I feel like it is the utter truth, but let's not discuss that for now.

You may or may not have noticed my recent hype for the starcraft2 global finals on these forums. But regardless of that, Blizzard handed a $100,000 check to a 17-year-old global champion. Okay, a 17 yo earned a hundred thousand dollars from one tournament. One tournament, not even the entire season. That's gotta be something huh. I mean... how could we question how much support starcraft2 alone gets in a year?

CF has always been pre-dominated by Chinese teams, now with the expansion of the Korean scene, it's almost always going to be an all-Asian grand final. NA is there to take the polaroid, be the regional representative and contender. Though in reality, we're currently in no place to claim a championship. And you know what, there are these 10 players that repeatedly go to China. I'm not complaining about that, but when do we actually get to see new faces from NA on the world stages? Great question huh, I'm not quite sure either of us could possibly answer, considering how ridiculously behind we are.

The majority of the Chinese teams get paid to play. I would flip my **** if team like Instinct wins.
