FPS drop? My ping is still normal?

I have around 52 ping at all times. My ping hasn't changed, but my fps has dropped significantly from 125 fps at all times, to 10-30 fps, and i am experiencing alot of fps lag along with it. It is very frustrating and I don't know what to do. This is a new laptop, not even a month old, and I haven't downloaded anything else on it really, as this is my school laptop. Any advice? I would really like to be able to play, but I can't deal with being killed because i'm fps laggin all over the place, it alters my performance. Any information is appreciated.
