Error after patch

Game closes instead of patching, any solutions?

1. Tried reinstalling
2. Tried running as admin
3. Checked printer cables

Retry all of those steps.

For the record, it loads the patcher, and instantly loads to "100%", then closes without launching the game.

Take a break and go outside

Try replacing .exe file with someone else's who has the game working.
Try deleting xtrap files and starting the game.

If its an xtrap problem, delete the xtrap folder then update. It should update you to the new version
