Workout Routine
Figured I'd get some input from the best source I knew ^_^
I've (re)started going to the gym, and I'm wondering what you people do in terms of exercises (for those of you who do work out).
I'm currently doing a lot of upper body work (my legs are already built from skiing and walking about 2 miles every day). A lot of body weight stuff- push-ups (different varieties), pull-ups (overhand and underhand), and various lifting exercises (curls, hammers, presses).
I guess I'm just interested in what other people are doing, so that I can compare to what I'm doing.

I don't really "work out" but I do do it sometimes when I'm pressured to join them at the gym haha.
Basic routine is usually:
-Flat bench
-Incline
-Decline
-Curls
-Push Ups
-Sit ups
Then the other day is
-Squats
-Deadlifts
-Legpress
-Cardio
-Sit ups
I mainly play soccer and do intramural sports to keep my fitness. Intramural soccer is finished, so now I'm currently doing Co-ed Flag Football, its a lot more work than Mens Flag Football since you have to carry hard -
Are there any good leg stretches you know of apart from the basics? I used to be realy flexible but Ive kinda lost it now.
Heres what I usually do before a soccer game, you can probably use them in before you work out, its probably a bit excessive though for just working out :P
All these should be held for 15 seconds.
Put your right foot over left foot, reach for the ground.
^ repeat, but use left over right.
Hold your right foot behind your butt.
^ repeat, but use left foot instead.
Spread your legs out, and then try to touch your left foot.
^ repeat, but reach for your right foot.
Stand straight up, feet next to eachother, and reach for the ground.
Sit down, and put both legs out in front of you, reach for them.
Bring one leg back, and then reach for it. Switch out your legs.
Bring both legs back, and press your feet together (butterfly stretch)
Uh, what I can think of the top of my head.
Theres others like doing knee high jogs, and lunges, and a 1/4 of a mile run but I don't think those are necessary for just working out lol. -
I put it simple like this:
Do watever you want for accessories, But the 4 most important exercises are the Bench Press, Overhead press( in the avatar), Squat, and Deadlift.
Last but not least, learn how do do them correctly or your just wasting your time.
Diet, nutrition, and 6-8 hours sleep are important as well.
This is just a summary, your gonna have to research for further details. -

Yeah, I'm going to look through a couple youtube videos before doing any heavy lifting. I've got a good back from rock climbing, but I'm not trying to mess that up ^^
Big, do squats and deadlifts really go far towards improving upper body strength?
Squats and deadlifts will improve your whole body strength, only bench and overhead presses improve your upper.
