Europe or USA?

I'm from Australia and turning 21 soon. Where should I go?!?! Looking to go for about 6 weeks and do half with a contiki or top deck tour, then the rest on my own. Good idea? or should i just wing it and do it all on my own? or do 5 weeks on a tour????? :D:D:D

  • Depends on what you plan on doing I suppose..

You'll have an easier time communicating in 'murica, some Europeans are less than helpful if you come on strong with English without making an effort at their own language - but if you travel with a guide or whatever that won't be an issue, and it's regional.

So, what do you want to do?

Both awesome imo, depends on what you're looking forward to do.

He wants to choose between both Eu or US, why you brought Egypt to the table o.0

I guess you haven't looked at the map recently... LOL!

Egypt is part of USA and in Europe. It's the best of both worlds. <- Totally not Hannah Montana reference.

    USA has Ebola now.
The number of people who have died in ebola since this epidemic began is less than how many people die every hour of every day on average.

He's more likely to die in an airplane crash going to America than from ebola.
Unless he travels to West Africa, Liberia or whatever, but those aren't American states yet! <3
  • Personally I would love to go back to the US, been three times, Florida, LA and Cali. I loved it, I seriously would love to go back, that'd be my choice.

I've been around to a lot of countries on Europe, been Hungary, Switzerland, Germany, France, Turkey (guess part of it is in Europe), Spain, Greece and that's about it I think, I loved going there but I personally preferred America.

I live in the UK, but I personally would say don't come to England because I dislike it, but that's because I've lived here so long.
  • Screw the U.S.
    Come to Canada - Vancouver.
  • First of all, congrats on your 21st mate :)

I agree with dot- if you don't really know any European countries, people will assume you aren't making an effort to fit in, and you won't be as welcomed. And as dot pointed out, it depends what you want to do.

Clubbing- Europe has the worlds best clubs. Also, if you ever get hurt (or alchohol poisoning ;) ) the hospitals and heath services in Europe are waaaay better than in the US.

Adventuring- Tied. If you want to just drive around, seeing stuff and living life completely in the moment, I would suggest the US. There's so much cool stuff to see and do in every state. If you are going to come for a couple weeks, PLAN AHEAD. Find stuff ahead of time that's AWESOME and make sure you'll be able to do it when you get there. Nothing worse than arriving somewhere to find out they're closed.

Europe- I used to live in France, so I can recommend alot of places and things to do there. You could easily spend a week or more there. Switzerland is cool place to see- people there are mad nice (my new england jargon is coming out). Spain is an awesome place to party (and it's also really cheap). I was there before their economic collapse though, so I'm not sure how things are nowadays. If you go to Italy, either go with a tour group, or learn Italian. Italians will take advantage of you if you aren't careful. But don't let dissuade you from going- it's one of the most beautiful places in the world.

If you just want a place where you can drink, smoke, and party with different girls every night, go to Amsterdam. They're currently having the ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) with Hardwell, Avicii, Tiesto, and a ton of other dance artists performing all week long. Point is, Amsterdam is the party city of Europe.

Hope this helps. Feel free to PM me with specific details about places in the US (I've been to 30/50 states) and in Europe.
  • Thanks for the advice everyone! :D

Thanks heaps for the in depth advice, dude!!! you're making it harder for me! :(
  • Not at all. Don't sweat your decision too much. Just pick one, and then make a list of countries/states/places that you absolutely want to see.

And if you're not sure whats worth seeing, google "cool tourism places" or just pm me :)
