windowed mode

Okay well, this is somewhat making me mad. I love playing crossfire and love learning new ways to get better fps. Ex. gamersbooster, etc. Well windowd mode gives me more fps and its less choppy for some reason. Don't ask me why but it does. However, during windowd mode I dc from the game for no reason way more than full screen mode, and I disconect from the game for no reason. So yeah is there any way to fix this besides changing to full screen mode or is it just glitchy?
