"Failed to Download Patch File"
I am getting the same Error! I uninstalled and downloaded it fresh from the website, same thing ""Failed to Download Patch File". I tried to right click and "run as admin." Still not working
I submitted a ticket, hopefully I still have time for the Event. -
Well So I managed to get it working for me ..
Here is what I did :
1- Use Windows task manager to "End Process" of the "cf_patcher"
( To get the Windows Task Manager, press Ctrl+shift+Esc for Windows 7, or Ctrl+alt+Delete for windows XP )
2- Delete crossfire.exe located in the Z8Games\Crossfire Folder
3- And this is very important: Make sure there is more than 5GB of free space on the hard-drive.
4- Run patcher_cf

It would work because the patcher itself is bugged I think, It keeps getting confused on the files, so deleting the crossfire.exe made it reset the verifying and just download the new one and finally patching the others. -
Hai, I think they fixed it cuz mine is working now but here's what they replied to my ticket :P
1) Uninstall the game completely
2) Perform system cleaning (CCleaner)
3) Disable your antivirus' real-time protection
4) Re-download the game
5) Install the game
6) Add the entire crossfire folder to your antivirus exceptions
7) Re-enable real-time protection
If your antivirus software's real-time scanner is active while you are downloading the game, it could result in corruption of the download. Temporarily disable your real-time scanner, then re-download the game client. Keep real-time scanning disabled while you install the game. Make sure to add the entire Crossfire folder to your antivirus' exceptions list before you re-enable the real-time scanner.
If you are still facing any issue after these steps, please submit another ticket with the specific issue and a screenshot of the error you receive.
