watch this video, i recently made it a couple hours ago. You see the black areas right? how do i get rid of them? i use sony vegas pro 10.0

Right click on the video and click properties. There should be a box that says maintain aspect ratio that is checked, uncheck it to get rid of the black bars.

Also you should probably do that right when you put the video into vegas, otherwise you will have to do it on every section of the video that was split.
