[pudgypaw]HACKED. To any GM in the area:
Found out my account was hacked. Hacker changed my name to "Shaweesh" and obliterated my KDR, and joined some clan called "Arab Team":

Even though he changed names, the account/firstIGN is still registered in the CF Database Table as pudgypaw. And to make matters worse that acct still has my picture and contact info (Still has "contact via pudgypaw@cal.berkeley.edu" listed). Talked to Bruce/Mod about it. Currently I made this (IGN pudgypaws, Forum pudgypaw) to communicate in forums. But I won't enter a clan or the actual game until this situation is resolved.
Not so much worried about the ZP I spent etc. I don't need the account returned to me, but at the very least we need to have that account destroyed as it contains personal contact info.
It WOULD be nice to have the opportunity to re-create the "pudgypaw" account or change the IGN of this account (pudgypaws) into pudgypaw.. as I like the IGN (I use pudgypaw as my alias everywhere on the net). But that's just a bonus if possible... sorry if this last bit sounded crazy lol..

they arn't going to give back 11k zp because he's an idiot... learn and move on. same as everybody else. -

@PacQuiaoPHI- This happens to be the first time I experience an acct hack. But when I was confused and can't even log in, people I knew in CF/Ventrilo searched the forums from their CF accounts. They remembered the stuff I wrote and found my old forum posts, and that revealed the changed ID (aka "Shaweesh"). As for how he did it, I don't know, but he might have done something similar to this:

thank you! i watched the youtube! so, the lesson here is never let ur CF ACCOUNT email be known to any1 and keep ur security questions very difficult to answer. ANYWAYS, THANKS YOU cus if it wer my account that was hack, damn! i dont know what im gona do to get it back! maybe hostage some1 from CF management!

Well, your IP matches up with the account, so on that basis I'll believe it so far. As I'm sure Bruce will, the rest of the mod staff will be interested to see what happens.
Also, as a side note, I would like to point out that being a member of the community, and an active member makes it easier to help recover lost and stolen accounts. -

z8 Staff replied to me late last night asking for my email and challenge questions to verify me one more time.
I replied accordingly, and got an email message this morning. They changed the password to the pudgypaw account and sent me the password. I have just gained entry into the account and currently beefing up the security...
I got my original account back as of today! Thanks to everyone involved, especially z8 Staff! -

...unfortunately it seems it was hacked right back the same day. I got the account back this morning, yet tonight I can't log on. It appears the hacker changed the name back to Shaweesh, and this time deleted my photo and my email contact info as well. He must think I used that to track him and it's partly true. He doesn't know that I post on the forums, such as TODAY:

I'm sending another support ticket form this alternate account. This hacker probably doesn't know I can still track him. This is war. -
I'm glad things worked out the first time. And juding by the proof and info you provided you will get back the access to your account again.
And as stated early on in the thread sending in a ticket is the best way to get this fixed.
However this obviously won't solve the larger issue and that is that someone has access to your computer in such a way that your passwords are compromised.
This could come from a couple of reasons (that I can immediately think of). Someone has access to your email and is requesting the new password. Or something has put a key logger on your computer.
So when you are in communication with support I would also request from them (once you've proven the account is yours as you did at the start). To change your email address. Then change the password. And then request that you change your security question and answer. That way all the information on your account is essentially "new". Anyone with access to anything else you had relating to the account should now be blocked out.
I would also run virus checks, and clean any spyware and adware off your computer. Keyloggers have been associated with a lot of the hack files on various sites. There are a lot of people who are attempting to hack our game by downloading these things and getting their accounts stolen.
So I will include the disclaimer at the bottom here to warn people that using a hack program may result in you losing the ability to play on your account (via banning) but also that these programs contain keyloggers and viruses and trojans that could be harmful to your computer. -
@Rex: Don't think so, I'm constantly logged into my email and I would have picked up such an email immediately. One time I was on Steam and I got such an email. Knew somebody was trying to route me and immediately changed email password, lol.
@Saidin: Check out my reply to Rex.. And regarding keyloggers, I just reformatted all my computers a week before the second hack. I reformat on average every 2 weeks or every month, keep 2 hard drives to isolate data when I reformat. The first hack occurred in october, and I stopped playing crossfire in july/september. Nowhere near CF when it happened. [and lol, no I don't dl skills]
The speed at which he does it is disturbing, but I'm closing in on other means. He keeps rejoining Arab Team so I talked to the leader. Leader actually knows the hacker's brother in real life, so while z8staff closes in on the left I'm closing in on the right. Hope this gets resolved soon...
