CrossFire Error

I just recently downloaded this game. I logged in to it. When it asked me for an in game name, I put mine in and pressed enter on my keyboard. My in game name that I typed in disappeared. I put it in again and pressed with my mouse this time. The game sounds keep going on, but I can no longer do anything to the screen. It's basically frozen with the sound going on. I run windows 8.
