CF NA Taking It's Last Few Breaths

Cheaters everywhere, log-in problems, very few teams, little competition, immature community who refuses to help it grow, same bugs in the game, no interest from gaming community to support the competitive scene, forums dead (no good posts, including this one).

I play CF ES and I get more and more disappointed in our version. But as long as ZP is being bought, corporate is happy. Why invest in the game if it's generating money with little to none invested.

IDK, maybe posts like this speeds up the process of death.

I just think that corporate needs to really invest back into the functionality of the game and change the anti-cheat or get new coders.

People who come and try to play the game just leave after a week or so. The game-play is bad. To get some of my brothers back to play the game, I had to convince them to accept the fact that the game is bad, accept the bad registry, play for the few competitions left and the absence of any good teams besides Kanata and !nstinct (Who is falling off).

IDK my friends, like seriously what can we do at this point?

  • Tried to get some of my friends from way back during the Checkmate days to rejoin and play the game. They literally played for 3 games and uninstalled told me the game isn't worth the time without either pouring money into the game for vip and armor just to be shot in the face by hackers. I keep playing and keeping my clan alive and such however trying to get new blood into the game seems hopeless at the moment. Completely agreeing with the post above me.
  • It has been this way for a while.

It's not the players that refuse to help, it's the developers. It's all about money, and they would rather make more VIP weapons and shiny skins to haul in a profit than help the competitive scene grow. But since now it's overrun by foreigners and has already been labelled as a big joke, it's too late to save. It was a good run but if you quit you would be doing yourself a big fucking favour for yourself.

i can't believe there are people dumb enough to continue to spend money on this game, their argument is always, it's my money and this game is fun, yeah this game was fun some years back, yes it is your money, doesn't eliminate the stupidity you do with it though, it seems the only people that continue to do so and call this game fun are the people who are in denial because they spent so much money/time on it to begin with.. don't get me wrong, i spend money on games, and there is nothing wrong with, i rarely do it for an advantage, but do it because i want to support the game for bringing me great free content, such as league of legends, world of tanks etc..

to all the people that continue to play the game

    and quit
  • I completely agree with you when it comes to pubstar teams, a few years ago there was way more players in the game. I remember Bravo and charlie were consistently full. Anyone who is playing this game for fun is going to quit because its literally unplayable when it comes to pubbing.

Its different with the competitive scene though, because noone who plays competitive is playing just for the pubs. We are playing for the tourneys, which consist of an anticheat. The community has never been huge so i wouldnt even say its dieing, with the addition of esl and esg still here i would actually say more teams have come back to the game than have left the game.

Yeah... the game is broken, there are multiple cheaters per game in alpha. However it doesn't affect the competitive community or cause it to die.

Lets be real, these problems have been in CF for years, and people still play.

Edit: oh and "no good forum posts" are mainly because people who quit this game but still lurk the forums pretty much ruin posts, people like zzxq would make top team threads before big events and would just get criticized for making it and expressing his opinion. Kind of like how jpurv continues to be criticized from players who dont play this game anymore. Not to mention it doesnt help that the top 3 teams (alphafive, kanata, instinct) dont even look at the forums, unless there is something big going on.

Back in the day the forums would be exciting because the top teams would all talk **** to each other, just for fun. It made the forums interesting
  • Just came back to CF after 3 years. Game is still the same, which means it's awesome!
    Who cares about competitive tourneys.

Hackers are annoying, as they come in and ruin good games, but that's the same for Combat Arms. It just the nature of this FTP fps genre i guess.

Cheer up everyone. Enjoy the GP/XP buff!
  • Youre welcome to leave and play invite cs whenever
Or any other just as terrible f2p fps with internationals and prize pools
    Why u mad
  • people have been saying this for over a year

    yet they still play it

    damn
  • Started playing smite a few day ago. In those few days, I have played more than I have done in an entire month on CF.

The bad thing is that ever since G4Box switched over to Smilegate west, things have changed such as new content like weapons. I wonder if Smilegate is having an influence on this version.

its to bad u ask your so called friends to come back when u blatantly wall all day long vs anyone u are losing to or dont like. fck off stop posting about cheaters when u cheat ALL THE DAMN TIME, i mean lets get real here id rather play vs speeding botters that dont lie about their cheats. than some random **** waller like you that shoots me from behind when i turn away to check another spot 100% of the time.

Also this game is growing every day. Just not north american version. cause of devs as stated^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ many times above
  • All f2p shooters suck mostly because they all have the same business model, pay 2 win. If you pay money you can get more powerful weapons with faster reload speeds or more bullets. Lets take a look at the current dominant games

League of Legends - Free to play but not pay to win, you buy cosmetic stuff.

CS:GO - You buy the game, its cheap and the game runs smoothly.

HearthStone - Free to play but not pay to win, you buy cosmetic stuff.

Minecraft - You buy the game, its cheap and the game has a lot of free content (mods).

Crossfire engine is old and has a pay to win model. These are a perfect roadway to failure, Crossfire never evolved and other games did but all f2p shooters out there suck.

CF isn't really pay to win, you don't even use ZP stuff in competitive :((

    You forgot Team Fortress.
  • There's been SF2/AVA teams who have come over and played in competitive. They liked the game play, but the competitive scene is **** so they left.

P.S. can someone explain to me why the next LAN is in the middle of nowhere?
  • ThePurv wrote: »

what percentage of that is U.S. revenue? i would assume a very small portion, i don't know why you would bother posting that, have you heard about being relevant?

hearthstone can somewhat be pay to win as you won't be using f2p decks in tournaments.

e.g. you can't use freeze mage (one of the more popular decks these days) if you don't have pyroblast, alexstraza and ice blocks / barriers crafted

you can't use miracle rogue which is arguably the most popular deck if you don't have preparations, leeroy, arcane golems

you can't use ramp druid if you don't have black knight, ragnaros, or cenarius

aka you're going to get ****stomped by a half decent player who knows how to play one of these decks if you're going to play something like zoo
  • From what i've noticed, the competitive seen is better than last years.

More leagues with anti cheats like, ESG/ESL/OCG.
Plus WECG might pick up the game, which adds another league which might get more people to join the competitive scene.

Plus, next year Crossfire and xtrap/hwgc or w.e are done with. Hopefully CF finds a good, reliable anti cheat.

    So much complaining..
