Sound bug.

So i randomly get this strange sound bug, all the sounds like footsteps, weapon sounds and nades change direction.
So everything happening on the left i hear on the right, everything happening behind me i hear
infront of me.
This makes it verry annoying to play because i always get confused from where i get shot.
Sometimes restarting the game fixes the problem but then halfway in a match in starts again.

This is only happening in crossfire and my headset is a Logitech G430

Any suggestions are welcome.

  • No one has any idea why this is happening?
  • bump. I stil get this occasionally, im sure im not the only one who has ever had something like this.
  • Hi,

I've had this issue too. Try updating your drivers with a program called 'Driver Booster V2.1' you can find it in google. Here is a key to unlock the professional version: 2EC72-368A4-5E4E9-D54A1

Also reduce your audio sample rate to 16 bit, 48000 Hz to improve network to cpu prioritization and to reduce DPC latency.

    Regards,
  • try another headset or earphones if you have,if the problem still persists than you have problem with your sound card try updating the drivers as suggested above and make sure you are not using any other sound related software's like razers.
  • I have this sound bug issue too! Randomly i get this strange sound bug, all the sounds like footsteps, weapon sounds and nade sounds are very bad than. And my Computer driver are all up to date. It's not my Computer!
I use the Realtek HD Audio manager at my PC for my software and other games working very well as example if i play Dying Light or Day Z i have no sound issues only here in Cross Fire! I hope some [GM] notice that.
  • Thanks interscopes. I downloaded the program u suggested and updated al the outdated drivers but it didnt help:(
I checked my audio sample rate while ingame and it was already set to 16 bit, 48000Hz so i just canged this to 16bit 44100Hz which solved the problem (for now atleast).

Madnade, i am not using any special audio software besides the Logitech gaming software for my headset, il try plugging in my earbuds next time even though i dont think it is hardware related cause i never had something like this with any other game.

The last time it happened it was after i alt tabed out and into the game by the way.

ITS NOT FROM YOUR PC !! I know in the game many player with very good gamer pc and they have this sound issue too.
  • I know this is no real solution and I'm not mocking you, but if it is completely inverted and not just the sides are switched, then you could simply take on your headset inversely.
Or is it designed so that you can't do this?

haha yes that kinda fixes the problem but its just not comfortably like that.

For people that have the same problem, when the problem occurs alt tab out of the game and change the sample rate to 16bit 44100Hz (or 16bit 48000Hz when you're already at 44100Hz).
This fixes the problem without having to restart CF.
