Is there a competitive scene for UK?

Hi, i used to play cf about a year ago and was involved in a few competitive things ect. Anyway i have been thinking about coming back but would like to know if there is any point as i heard that there is no competitive scene for uk players. Is this true and to what extent, if there is anything remotely competitive for uk players i will come back and could anyone hook me up with names of top uk clans, pug vent and all that jaz. Thanks
