In-game Social groups

Meeting new players in Crossfire can be challenging sometimes with such a large player base with players from all around the world. A suggestion I have is In-game Social groups.

What is it?
It's a way for players to find other players based on certain criteria such as location, game modes, language, etc.

How does it work?
Players under their in game profile (optionally a way to customize your profile online, view able in game) can select their language, country, favorite game modes, etc.

Players will also be able to search for other players based on this criteria!

The process will work like this:
Enter Crossfire > Settings > Community > (new tab called Profile) >

Options listed will be things like Language, Country, Rank, Game Mode Most Played, Weapon Type most used, Age, Gender, etc.

To find players based on their Criteria, go to the Friends tab in the top right next to Options, Exit, etc. Then go to Find Friend, a new tab will appear on the left side of the Find Friend text box labeled "Groups". You can then select from a [X] [ ] [√] style box on what sort of criteria you're looking for. If you're looking for players that speaks English, you can use a drop down menu for English. Alternatively the [X] [ ] [√] style box if you want to use this search feature.

If you want to find players based on their country, gender or age, boxes and or drop down menus will be available for that as well.

Once you click "Submit" a large menu of players will appear that fit your search criteria. Hover over the [Info] box to view the players statistics, recent server played, favorite game mode .etc
Note: players can select multiple languages from for their profile, however, players will only be able to search for one language.

Custom groups
Players can have the option of creating their own specific groups, like a clan, however no sort of points will be available. The purpose of this is to have a specific chat, much like "Friend, Regular, clan" that is currently available, to talk to players based on criteria such as location and language.
Note: Number of custom social groups to be decided if implemented

Privacy
Players can also have the option to have their information unlisted from the data search.

With such a large game and players from all over, I think this would be a great way to match players up to meet and play with other players from their own language, country or interests. In-game social groups would definitely make the playing experience much greater if we had a way of playing with people based on own criteria!

Thoughts?

very nice idea but maybe will be hard to get this info from players cf have millions of players maybe we can do that in facebook it is easier
  • Or you could just join the CF group in facebook and meet people that way as well!

But then you have to search for groups. Having it implemented in crossfire would be more immediate :)
  • I like it +1.

Unfortunately, there's a good chance many people who say they're from Egypt get kicked whether they're cheating or not. Oh well.
  • Hows about specific 'clans' raised to a, say, 500 limits?
Granted it would be within the confines of the current clan system, but more of a community function for those who are looking for THAT rather than "just a clan".

Interesting. And even more interesting is Dot and I agreeing on something :)

I support a raised member limit but what my suggestion is trying to get as is people trying to find and build up their own community / groups to find players to play with, apart that of a clan.

There's many multinational clans on here's and that sometimes is hard, with only 100 members, to find a larger selection of players. Even increasing the member allowance it would still only give the player an option (if they are in a multinational clan) of joining a clan or a group.

Since regional limitations are always off the book and never taken lightly by anyone, having search criteria for groups, with clans being completely as they are now, would greatly allow people to find and play with players of whom would make their experience better.
  • I Rather have More of a ally chat instead, which basically would be a social group for those who are in the same alliance as your clan so you can still contact other clans within your alliance chat instead having another 20 people on your friends list in the same exact clan
