lol! you silly goose. Its damn near impossible to ghost on lan.. If you set up the center properly, and have tournament PC's with restrictions on them. -
I want to share an interesting story. In China, in WCG2009 national LAN finals(when crossfire was an exhibition item) a player installed hacks in his PC during the group games.
Since then no one had been found or accused of cheating during national level games in China. But lower level qualification games keep involved in scandals. Some organizers in small regions who get power could still use their right to change the results. -

Easy fix.
Give both teams player ESP/wallhack. This would eliminate the need of ghosting and give both teams an equal opportunity at pre-firing one another.sype_Beret wrote: »lol! you silly goose. There's a cheat that can navigate you to the players through your headphones/earphones by reading the games memory. It sounds a bit like text to speech. How are you going to detect that? I heard it still works (It was made for private use by a few players who wanted to cheat on clients). It injects itself as soon as you plug your mouse/headset (depending on if its advanced) into the computer, the actual cheat is embedded into the software. -

BR0, you get sponsors of the lan to provide gear to the players of their choice -

I am a systems administrator. I am also a networking administrator. With the correct group policy settings and monitoring, you can and will detect file system changes and or networking changes.
So now, like I said before. If setup correctly, you can setup a Lan properly. -

There are cheats like he described, but not many coders will invest the time to make one for CrossFire since the competitive scene is rather small. The cheat he described wouldn't be detected by any group policy setting or file monitors because it never exists on disk. They are usually stored in the memory of the hardware they reside on and are manually mapped into memory. Manual mapping is a technique to load code into memory without using the Win32 API to do so, this means no LoadLibrary or CreateRemoteThread. Windows doesn't have knowledge that your DLL exists. The memory can still be viewed using VirtualQueryEx and walking through each memory region if you start at the base address and increment your search based off the size of each region. -

Couldn't have said it any better myself. -

mike, will you terminate his ass?
Well for that to happen there would need to be solid proof. More substantial than we have now.
Hypothetically speaking, if it were true, Polleus and I would determine what to do at that time. But he would not be involved in day to day administration duties.
However, for the time being, since nobody can offer that proof, We take Iceman at his word. He says he didn't do it, so I believe him. -

You want real proof? Like none of the crap that's been presented now, actual surveillance of the team / whoever was invoved? Like real time desktop/audio/game/mumble footage? -
Even with that nothing will happen. They used a separate form of communication. Shame we didn't ghost in the finals like we wanted to; would've gotten another trip.
Nah one of my mates, well pretty close mate was viewing their pcs remotly and he recorded footage from all pcs (and every other match) he uploaded them onto his sever, go pick the team you want to view and just watch the recorded footage (it dates as far back as 2010), also for proof of confirmation these do include webcam monitoring so you will be able to recognise them:
