Clans becoming Teams
I have seen some great talented players/clans in pubs and in clan wars. So why are you guys not giving your all?
I understand that you may not know what to do or don't have the drive to go to the next level. Once in a while clan will come and participate in one of the 5v5 SnD tournaments like ESG or ESL but I don't understand why there isn't more clans/teams playing.
For over 5 years there have been many leagues and tournaments for players to test their skills and to show everyone who the best really are. We currently have 2 League ESG (Esports Genesis) and ESL (Electronic Sports League), along with the International CFS (CrossFire Stars) tournaments.
Each of these events ranging from weekly cups to month long tournaments give out CASH prizes totaling over $1000 with CFS have over $150,000 ($50,000) for 1st Place.
I feel as though many are missing out the best that CF has to offer. I know that some are afraid that there are cheaters, but no need to worry because both ESL and ESL have their very own Anti-Cheats that catch any and all cheaters.
So if you and your clan wants to step up to the challenge and believe you have what it takes to be the best then grab 5 members and sign up for any of the upcoming tournament and/or cups. You can also practice by playing scrims in Echo 8.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to post below and I along with other will be happy to help you out.

From experience, I feel that it's not cheaters that are the main problem, because I don't know anybody that is under the suspicion of cheating, currently. I think it's the communities reaction to clans coming over. A lot of others talk smack and down on others, or they simply get discouraged. It's all about ignoring them, and playing competitive only if you truly enjoy the rush of being in a 1v3, getting 3ks, 4ks, and 5ks. It's their tenacity that matters in this situation, I believe. -
I've made big posts about it before but, it's ego-8's problem. Teams coming from "clan war" clans can't make it anywhere when every time they try to practice against e-8 teams they aren't taken seriously and will continually break rules such as rejoining, adding a 6th person (not nade speccing) or even not following gun rules. Since you strive to be a "community" kind of person, why don't you attempt to fix that first?
-
The whole attitude of the community on here just stinks. Whenever someone new appears they are immediately shot down.
Anyone new in E8 that noone knows and does well gets kicked. Happens all the frigging time...
Its the mentality that if someone doesnt know someone else and theyre doing well... then theyre automatically cheating in some way. -

Oh well, you can't change it, no use trying. -
Like others said. The ego of the community, attitude towards each other and "pubstars". Its not just that they get discouraged but it becomes unapealing.
There have been people who have cheated in comps. Also, z8 just doesnt promote the competetive scene enough.
Last reason is that they know they most likely wont win a tournement and not worth it. -

Just ignore the haters. There are teams that will follow the rules no matter what as long the other teams does so too. Even then they might still follow it because it doesnt help you at all to go against the rules. It doesnt make you better. RQ and rejoining makes you 0/0 but doesnt help you get better. Be the mature one, be a leader, and be the example.

I am having trouble finding a good, solid, mature, dependable team willing to put in the necessary work to compete. I've joined numerous highly ranked pub clans, and have almost immediately left those groups because of the rampant immaturity of its members. So I created my own clan, but still can't find anyone to join up and compete.

You looking for a Clan or a team? -
Personally, while I'd love to make a competitive team with friends who I know could at least compete with the average E8 team, and get rounds/maps off them, it's hard to make the switch.
A lot of teams don't take you seriously despite you outplaying them. They tell themselves that they just weren't trying, or find an excuse to leave if they're losing, or begin to cheat because you're 'just pubstars'.
Also, most of the people I'd like to form a team with don't play enough, don't have the mindset of trying to improve and not just rage quit when you lose, or just don't want to put the time in. -
I just noticed your website, are you located in Indianapolis yourself ?Personally, while I'd love to make a competitive team with friends who I know could at least compete with the average E8 team, and get rounds/maps off them, it's hard to make the switch.

Well I hope to help change the "we are not even trying" BS. I am going to be streaming a lot more scrims to get more practice. This is also a good way for a team to show what they are made out of. Im pretty sure a team wouldnt want to be embarrassed on a live stream.
If any team wants to play and wants to be streamed, contact me and ill see if I can set something up.

And I also want to point out that Echo 8 games are your every day Alpha/UK/Alpha 7 pubs. To clarify, they're PUBS for a reason - meant for the public to join and play. Don't be bothered if "Echo 8 competitive" players criticizes you for having armor, using ZP characters/weapons, etc. In reality, they're probably using armor or have a VIP themselves. Echo 8 pubs are mere practice and should not be taken as seriously as actual tournament matches, for example. -

Where are announcements made for upcoming open rosters? Like, legitimate "this is happening in a few weeks, here's finalized information about it (); be ready to apply" types of announcements. Not "Hey we'd like feedback on our suckish last-minute tournament, also, teams submit applications in comments section" announcements.
For the 5 years I've played this game, I think I've caught 3 open roster submissions after WOGL. One filled in about 2 hours before I could get confirmation from my team mates, one I didn't have a team at all, and one was a random mini-tournament. All of which I just happened to stumble upon.
These leagues pop up then die out so quickly, it's hard to keep track.
How do you guys keep up with all these leagues and know when roster submission is open? That's what I'd like to know.
I stick to the clan server. It's structured, easy to start matches, and people can't leave the match and rejoin at will. It has it's own, separate win/loss and kill/death scores, and usually the players aren't delicate little flowers that get their feelings hurt whenever they lose or quit.
And if the competitive section of this forum is any indication of what people are like in Echo 8, I'd like to stay away from there as long as I can. Just a bunch of pre-teens arguing who is better with memes, macros, and Twitter-esque waterhead English. -

I know that when a new tournament comes up, Z8Games announces it but only once. More than likely youll see an annoucement for ESG since they have 1 tournament every month or so.
ESL on the other hand has a Cup every week so continuously announcing it would become overdone. They could however update what is going on with it, such as who has the most points and more coverage of what is going on.These leagues pop up then die out so quickly, it's hard to keep track.

The current competitive players check the Competitive section on a daily basis to see what is going on with the tournaments and check on the leagues website.
We currently have 2 leagues that are contracted with G4Box ESL and ESG. They both have their own Anti-Cheats and have cash prizes.
There could be more done to help promote the leagues and their tournaments.I stick to the clan server. It's structured, easy to start matches, and people can't leave the match and rejoin at will. Well clan wars are a good way of keeping track of how your clan is doing but that doesn't follow how competitive teams work. The comp players play "Scrims" to practice and work on their strategies and game play. At times they will just play to work on a few things and not try to win or as some would call it "try hard" to win the match.
Because of how they practice, the stats coming from clan wars doesn't show how good you are. That is only shown in the tournaments.
Plus you cant spectate in clan wars, so streaming the matches would be impossible and its easier to manage the match this way. Of course this is CF and it has its bugs, so DCs will happen from time to time. If a player disconnects, well he cant get back until the entire match is done or they all quit and restart the match. With the normal SnD scrim rooms, you can get back in whenever (most likely at the beginning of the next round). And if the competitive section of this forum is any indication of what people are like in Echo 8, I'd like to stay away from there as long as I can. They (including me) are just bored out of our minds and looking for something to do, which in this case is to troll each other. As of right now we have a small competitive community where everyone pretty much knows each other, so screwing around and insulting each other will happen.
As for new players trying to become competitive, just ignore any haters and keep doing what you are doing. Get 5 and play with another team in a scrim. If the other team isnt playing by the meta rules, then just brush it off and keep playing and learn from it.iStrawberryy wrote: »The only thing that sucks its CF NA&UK and there's not as much offered to the UK Part community..
Considering NA is the main area for this version and G4Box being located in Canada, it should be known that NA will get more attention.
But there is good news! As far as I know both ESG and ESL allow UK players to play in their leagues but the downside is that the times of the matches will be using EST which would be from 6PM EST to 10PM EST times that most UK players cant make. To add, the matches will be played in the Echo Server making UK players have high ping and thus lag. -

oh yeah i know that UK is aloud to enter,im saying that if we do end up competing we will lag,and it will very late thats the down side of it,but i understand that you would get more attention but the thing is we dont even have ESG/ESL,we have nothing its moved on to EU&in EU all the germans just rage&qq all the time.. -

That explains a lot about you.
actually since im not the strongest player in game, i have to rely on strats and gameplay
but in all actuality with a game like crossfire, whoever can frag the best could easily carry a match compared to a game like cs -

It's easy to start scrims, no one gives a flying **** about rejoining, and half the clan server are either autistic egyptians or cheating CN clans spamming their VIPs, while the other half are players who are rejected from actual teams or ******ed 10 year olds.
