LOL. Not the end result they were going for.
Just wanted to see justice.
Thanks again for doing this. Just sad action could not be taken in real time.
i dont really know.. i told everyone that im not in anyone's side... im going to see the reply and judge and let the overwatchers watch it too easy...now delirium DQed so everyone should be happy now afterwhatever? said he wont play vs explicit.. like... people... we are trying to play fair tournament here you know.. -
What a mess.
If retired vs deliverance is a thing. Perhaps next weekend we would all be calm enough to play? I think that would be a very fun and challenging game, we are fairly new so would be tough as hell. Tough is fine when you are not getting stared down as you bhop LOL
Making a fair tourney with out an anti cheat is hard. The over watchers can only do so much. From our point of view it was ridiculous though.
I have not seen any SS from the Menace vs Explicit games. I heard Sivo played BL though ?? -

I have dark added on fb, so if you wanna directly talk to us just ask him to message me or something. I'm still talking to my team about it. Not looking like we could make it in time today. -

Well, see it from our point of view. Perhaps if the semi-finals and finals were postponed, it may be a different story. What we experienced yesterday was the following, I'll take you through a step by step procedure.
2:00 PM
Team is online, we practiced a few strategies, had a few scrims, everything was going quite enjoyably.
2:45
The servers crashed. Chaos ensued. Trying to keep in touch with members, figure out the ruling on play as servers and forums were down, it was very up in the air.
3:30
Around forty-five minutes later, servers were back up. We scrambled together, sorted out some last minute issues with our voice chat and teams, and then hunkered down to begin.
Game one took 15 minutes to begin as everyone was getting comfortable. We understood this would take some time. Things happen. We chatted, had a good time.
Then the match finally began. It went 7-3 first, and we were feeling pretty good about things. We had some learning to do, due to server latencies and what have you, we were registering hits significantly less, but it is what it is.
3:50
Round 1 has ended, and we're waiting for round 2 to begin. Delirium switched out several members, and then it took them an additional 10 --> 15 minutes to be fully prepared and able to begin. We waited. They should've been prepared before hand, this was obnoxious.
4:05
Round 2 began. Delirium soundly trounced us into a 3-7 loss, in which case we decided we had to take serious ground on NA side, when they no longer had the advantage and we had home ice, as it were.
4:30
Both teams have made it over to the NA side, and we're waiting for Delirium to choose their ringers (It felt like we were playing two teams at this point, a GR team and a BL team). It took doubly longer to eliminate maps, as they waited for a singular person to eliminate a map, and we were sitting on our hands.
4:40
Round 3 begins. we go 7-2, and we're pretty content. We're back on NA grounds and we're pretty content, we know what's what.
5:00
Waiting for Round 4 to begin. We've switched sides, and once again Delirium is changing ringers. We're getting antsy. This process shouldn't take as long as it does. Our Overwatcher is to the point where he's tired of it. 15 minutes later, he starts it, without all of Delirium being ready, as they're taking so long.
5:15
Round 4 begins. We go 3-1, and Delirium forfeits the match, tapping out and requesting to go back to UK. We're a little miffed, as the total rounds, if looked objectively, are now 20-13, a very clear cut victory, but the first one was called a tie, so whatever.
We go back to the UK side of things, after some negotiating politics, and hunker down to begin. By this point, it's taken around 15 minutes to move over.
5:45
Round 5 begins and we notice a very definitive change in pace. One of their ringers has gotten staggeringly fast in both reaction and accurate in aiming. We chalk it up to being on UK servers and our pings are bringing us down that much. it goes 7 - 5
6:25
Round 6 begins after 10 minutes of deliberation, waiting for Delirium's ringers to get into position, and for players to change their settings. It's still very strange and we're all questioning the same person. We ask our over watcher, he says nothing. It goes 4 - 7
I don't unfortunately have the data for our last round, as the most of Deliverance were just frustrated and fatigued. We had an over watcher who didn't see anything wrong with the game play, something we all felt should've been called on the spot. We played maybe two hours of legitimate play against the UK team, and then an additional two hours against a team who had an incredible edge, above average reflexes and insight into our playing.
We took a beating for hours, by a team who supported the dishonest player, and by impromptu decisions that we felt were not made.
We are exhausted. We are jaded. We are irritated. We want nothing to do with the UK players as of this moment. I haven't heard anything about the Menace v Explicit game, so I'll refrain from commenting, but was it much the same? Was it a hilarious pull by a singular player?
We weren't arguing about the legitimacy of letting Delirium in because we wanted the chance at the ZP prizes for ourselves, we argued the legitimacy of Delirium because there was something we felt was not right.
The over watchers and host of this tournament can look at this as a learning experience. You need over watcher's who are versed and experienced enough with game mechanics to know when to be suspicious about a player, and be comfortable enough to make the call on the spot.
Once more, we are very thankful for the clean time we had playing, and we are doubly thankful for the effort put into hosting and administering this competition. However, due to our experiences, we are not emphatically convinced that Explicit will be any different then Delirium, and we're not particularly interested in beating our heads against the wall for four hours to find out that we were correct in our suspicions.
We are tired.

I don't know if you're new to the "GM community" or something. But ANY SINGLE GM even WILL lead to chaos, drama, and shiiit. No matter what happens, people in this "community" are going to hate each other. You can't turn the GM community into something because it's like trying to make heaven and hell into one thing. It's not gonna work. ): -

We could use bandicam. But that might take too much effort. Especially for 4 games. -

most of Uk players have FPS problem already haha
what about the anti cheat like the OCG one ? maybe we can talk... and make 2nd tournament with anti cheat and finish in a good way :c maybe... -
Eh, what's done is done now. Delirium has been DQ, both NA teams refuse to play Explicit. Looks like the tourney is over. If you don't know what to do with all that ZP, I'll gladly take it all.
hahahaha maybe.. i save the zp and add extra zp prize for a 2nd tournament ? with anti cheat ? great idea ha ? -

Seems like a good idea. But:
Fellow Gamers,
It is with regret we must inform you that Online Competitive Gaming, Inc. will be closing permanently on January 1, 2014. (From OCG FB) -

Doesn't really matter...none of the NA teams really want to play anymore and no one cared about our team/game -
I say it's all because of the ZP prize. People go crazy over 10k zp.
All in all, you can never really tell if someone's been rez-modding or not. I'd like to think that overwatchers help, but in most of the fights we don't see much, depending on the angle/point of view. The fact is you can catch a failed hop, think you hear something, see dust on your screen (happens, at least to me), or just spray. Replays help, but in terms of failed hops, they're really useless. -
Can someone please fill me in on what has happened?
Host of tournament wanted to make uk and na gm communities better, but he ended up ghosting in his own tourny so he could win prize. Another team "Delirium" caught hacking or sound rezzing. That about sums it up. So Menace, Deliverence, and retiredGM are the current teams left in the tourny if it's still running that is...
