what do you suggest for £600-£700?
get an i5 instead of an i7. Same gaming performance and i doubt youll be using the hyper threading on an i7. then get a cheaper mobo. Using this money you can get a better GFX card.

£232 and then count shipping.
also with a 270 your gonna have a hard time playing bf4 with ultra lol. get a better GPU -

get the nest card for whatever money you have left over. I honerstly suggest going to tomshardware.com or another site like linustechtips and ask them to help put a build together for you. theyll probably do a better job then anyone here. -

i would rather spend 10 bucks more on the i5 4670k and z97 mobo rather than the amd combo. itl give better gaming performance and the z97 boards are new and a little bit better than z87.
Get the 8 core you wont regret it. -

unless hes using programs that require more cores, which i doubt he will.Even if they do i doubt its gonna be much of a difference. Hes better off getting the processor that has better single core performance since he'll get more FPS. And by the time games start using more than 4 cores there will be new tech out that he will probably buy. -

This was taken while it was 80F+ in my room so ambient temp was hot.
Value was the current temp as it sat there. Min is when the room cooled down and then the max was when under load. -

he said he wants to play games like BF4 and others on ultra. And an i5 4670k will give you better performance than an 8350 especially when its overclocked.
Look at the programs you use. Then compare the results and see if the 8350 is really better than an i5. -

gonna be doing alot of video rendering and editing, running alot of programmes simultaneously -

and an i5 could easily do that. An 8350 will have advantages on an i5 in video rendering, but its not gonna be anything you notice unless you are sitting there and watching the bar. -

Your such a biased fan boy.
There wouldn't be a noticeable gaming difference either unless hes going sli/cfx
FYI, the i5 would cost quite a bit more, and he doesn't have the budget.
That system will still rip and probably **** on my phenom x6 @4ghz & my 2 6950's -
The fx 8350 and r9 280 make a pretty good combo for the price.
You could very well go with the fx 8320 @3.5 ghz since you're on a budget and then overclock it to 4ghz once you get an aftermarket cpu cooler.
The i5 haswell is indeed better in performance, but I don't think that the few fps it would provide are worth the extra money.
