  • <---- Power metal junkie here.

The good: Your singer is like seriously good. He reminds me of Andre Matos a bit which is a VERY good thing. The production is actually quite nice, your playing as a group is tight.

The neutral: I felt the songwriting was generic for the genre you're playing in. Not that the song was boring or anything, which it wasn't, it's just something I've heard countless times before and didn't make my head start banging right away. If you could craft a unique sound, something that separates you from the pack, that will really propel you forward. That being said, the song flowed well and the multiple tempo/rhythm changes were a nice addition and prevented it from growing stale.

The meh: I was waiting for some sort of triumphant/catchy chorus and it never hit. I do give you props for not falling into that cliche, but I felt the song needed it. Also, are you using a drum machine? Sounds like it. Either that or your drummer has the most mechanical and soulless playing ever :P

I listened to Crimson Sea as well and I liked it more than this track. Some nice guitar playing at that one and I loved the chorus with those epic backup vocals.

Has potential. Keep it up ^^

I don't reaaally like to say it but yeah, it was recorded under a low budget thus only having drum machines into it. But we're planning on doing our EP in a professional studio with a professional sound engineer/producer.

But if it had our real drummer, the feeling to the song would have been 100x times better I promise. lol

We also didn't give Ragnarok a triumphant feeling to it since Ragnarok is basically the end of the gods, haha. So it wouldn't feel right to give it some victorious feel to it when all the gods die. We actually did the opposite, which was the breakdown (very old school breakdown, not the modern blastbeats smashing cymbals and toms/snare lol) to emphasize that part that explains the battle between the nordic gods thus ragnarok occurring.

Personally, I hate monotony in music so I'm always pushing our song writing into something other than monotonous. hahaha

but thanks for the feedback! both good and bad, always looking for bad stuff so we can fix them.

Here's our facebook page for more shameless promotion lol

    Liked it.

Like I said you guys certainly have potential, hope for the best! You should submit your band to Metal-Archives.com, always a good idea.
