Prize pool elevation items

Hey guys, just thought I would put out a thread to see what you all think of what some competitive games are starting to do.

The game would have to create a variety of ZP items and all of the money from purchases of those specific items would go to prize pools for LAN events.

Do you think this is something our version and even CF internationally could do and would it help our community?

Just wondering, because I know with the amount of revenue this game generates globally they could be doing something along the lines of what Dota 2 is doing right now and it could potentially elevate our version as well as the international competitions prizes for CF.

  • I like it

But the funny thing is all of the money would come from non competitive players such as everyone in Alpha 7. Little to non will come from competitive players. Although we "could" have tournaments like CFPL does which allows players to use any weapon, character, etc. That would help increase the amount of competitive players in a way but then there will be 2 different types of competitive players (GP vs ZP).

I think they should release permanent CFS Guns you can buy for ZP in every version each year (maybe 3 or 4 guns each season) and use that money towards CFS international and version specific prizes.

Well with that in mind, lets see how this adds up

Lets say they do release 3 to 4 guns (although there were over 10 for WCG). If they decide to package all of them for like $20 then I can see that being a good buy.

    $20 x 5 players per team = $100
    $100 x an estimated number of teams 32 = $3200

    Those are just a possibility

    Anything released wouldn't be perm.

Furthermore, $3200 is not nearly enough for them to make any sort of action. Add 1 or 2 digits and it would be a possibility.

    Yea

Just knowing how the competitive community is, they dont like spending money at all on the game even for temp armor for a tournament.

So either a cheap temp or a one time large purchase of a perm. But like you said a temp would help keep the money following.
  • Strengthening the NA competitive community brings them next to nothing.

I think they could if they had competitive premium items. Like skins that didn't impact the game and were Legal.

This ^ Add skins for guns that dont impact their performance and charge ZP for them. Do it globally and it you could get probably 1 million in the CFS prize pool.

    Love this idea :)

Also, after awhile and if this catches fire, resulting in major growth for NA competitive CF, you should try to get some sponsors. That way there aren't major entry fees and yet high rewards.
  • They don't need to make the prize pool 1 million. They have a unique hold on their market. There are no competitors so there are no prize battles.

Prize pool could help steal players from other competitive games, because of a prize increase. If CS teams could come to NA CF and take home 6 figures a year they would play CF.

And where is the guarantee they will even win any of these prizes? Not to mention the NA cs scene is inferior in all aspects to EU.

$180k and not a single CS team signed up. Didn't garner any attention. Not even open level players.
