Round 3 vs Alpha5
*brando kills FASTLIKEWIND with a TAR*
FASTLIKEWIND: "Wtf isn't that illegal?"

After the game, we double-check the rules.
The Tar is not included in them.
We dispute to Admin Slaya.
He says "Sorry, too bad so sad, they're moving on. The Tar will be in the rules from now on, let me edit it in."
lionheart: when i say something is allowed
lionheart: that automatically makes it apart of the rules
lionheart: do you not understand that
For the record, we lost 10-8 and 10-5, sigh, matchv2
Frustrations, frustrations, frustrations. -
Regardless of whether A5 moves on or we move on... This is what Slaya did...
The gun was illegal, by all definitions... It's against the written and published rules.
We go and check the ruleset to double check the Tar usability. It's not there.
Shortly after Slaya decides to CHANGE THE RULES and say that the Tar IS allowed.
So after a valid dispute saying the TAR isn't written in the rules and is therefore against the rules... Rather than follow the rules written by the ESL Admins, Slaya decides to change the rules in favor of Alpha 5.
I just don't understand how these people get these positions in the first place. -

I didn't change the rules shortly after the match, zzxq asked me a week prior if tar was allowed and I said yes. The tar was allowed in the last two events, cry me a river please. -

Could you read this for me? Clearly you haven't read this. -

The rules haven't been updated, you do know all disputes are up to the admins discretion right? You're trying to pin this on me when the conversation I had with xotek, he stated that he didn't tell brando that he was using a tar 21 because he was a "scumbag" and was going to dispute regardless. Keep trying to win off technicalities, I can see why exertus sponsored your team out of every other team they could have sponsored. -
You do realize those were the rules of cup ONE not the monthly final. Dumbass.
Oh I guess you're right.

I guess there were no rules. Wonder why everyone didn't use their VIP guns. -
From slayas standpoint the rules were changed a while back and was allowed in the past matches but never officially changed on writing.
From exertus standpoint the gun was never in the official rules and that is why there are disputes.
So combining all the information together there always needs to be something made official, one can't go outside and say he's the president, neither can one tell someone a gun is allowed but not change it in the official rules. I'm thinking it isn't slayas fault and someone forgot to change the official writing. Nonetheless, legitimately, exertus deserves the win. -

I did not say this. I gave a hypothetical that we wouldn't dispute if it were someone other than Brando; that guy is a dirtbag.
Ultimately, Slaya is in his right to make whichever decision he wishes. He is the head admin. I hope that, in the future, he makes...
Well, frankly, smarter ones. It was - in my eyes - a very poor decision. -

We did not know it was allowed at the time. We figured the rules hadn't been altered since the first cup. That's why I said we went to double check. THEN WE FOUND OUT IT WAS ILLEGAL.
Glad ESL Admins know how to ****ing read.
You altered the rules in favor of a Team. What a great Admin. I should expect bias from a ****ing Crossfire player. -

[10:05:02 AM] Kyle Vognsen (-Zzxq): Sorry Reid and Jordan are being idiots about the dispute
[10:05:06 AM] Kyle Vognsen (-Zzxq): =/
[10:05:23 AM] Kyle Vognsen (-Zzxq): Ill stand by your decision though

Well atleast I get to talk someone above you. -
Here is my opinion on it:
1 - I think slayas decision was not the best one, but was more than reasonable considering other teams were allowed to used the TAR in events when they asked him. So because an Admin approved the TAR in past events, in terms of consistency in the rules, slaya was quite fair.
2 - I do understand my team is mad because the rules were incorrectly written in terms of the gun list, and for that I understand the frustration.
3 - So While yes I would have made a different call, I stand by this decision as fair, even being the team that gets the short end of the stick on this one. I would say while not the best decision it was still a consistent call.
I thought it was fun game and a good learning experience. I was happy to come close with you guys either way on port. Good luck to Alpha Five.
