My ambulance ride, hospital stay, and surgery cost me less than $200.

    Yay for having insurance!

How much do you pay for this insurance?

I pay nothing. I also pay nothing for treatment

I pay nothing, covered by my mother, as she gets it with her job.

Good for you, how are the facilities where you get treated?

Not trying to hate, but I've always imagined that with universal insurance, hospitals really fall in quality.

    UHM.
    no.

    Canada has a better system.

Yeah bro, I'd rather wait 6 months for a surgery and die.

    How so?

Healthcare in general included dentistry; $14 for ambulance $20 for emergency room services, $20 for any visit to GPs or specialists, $10 a month 'insurance' for any non-cosmetic dentistry (braces and such free) if you're over 20, any medication you get on prescription that sums up to over $200 is free (after $200, everything is free)

Prolonged hospital visits are kind of expensive though, not in our currency but converted..
    Like $11 a night + $5 for cable.

Our insurance system has nothing to do with health care though, it's just added bonus for being hurt, scars or giving your family lots of moneys if you die.
    Quite optional.

    What's your system like?

No actual confirmation, just that he's not on mumble?

    Terrible just the same.
    Why delete the insurance posts?
    This whole thread isnt serious....
    THANKS FOR CLARIFYING, sorry :)

They are taking money off of your mom's paycheck for that insurance and US has an awful health care as compared to several other countries.
No wonder we are ranked 37th in the "Best Healthcare System" right under Costa Rica and Dominca.

I'm not saying we are at the top, just saying my mother getting docked 4k/year for a plan that covers over 95% of expenses for 4 people(my family), and also guarantees quick and excellent service, is much better than free insurance. Not sure how England's system works(i'll read up on it soon, watching dig vs fna right now), but public healthcare in the EU sucks. been to hospitals in both germany and poland(on a public plan) and it was horrible.

Several European countries have better health care system than Canada but yes, Canada is better than USA when it comes to health insurance and all that.
  • problem is that we need to get rid of the thieves, i mean, middle class is already paying 35% tax rate or higher on average which is not far from the tax rates in europe, where is that money going lol??? this is apart from state level taxes as well..

You're asking where the 35% goes or saying it should be less?

I'm sure whitehouse.gov puts out budgets and whatnot.

  • Our healthcare isn't all that good, but in terms of being free then I guess it's alright. It's also quite easy, well doable, to scam and trick the NHS lol

  • The Affordable Care Act is the single biggest mistake the United States has ever made.

The healthcare (if you can call it that..) law is nothing more than a welfare system for the insurance companies.

Many families premiums have doubled and tripled for each month.

Small single doctor offices are being put out of business.

Wait times for life saving surgery or treatments are going from a couple weeks to months.

There is NOTHING affordable about the healthcare law. I work hard for my money. I work for myself and am in a position to take care of myself however I feel fit. I do not feel that "MY" money should go to pay for someone else problems. I do not feel others should have to pay to take care of my health. My health, is 100% my responsibility and should stay that way.

I have not filed taxes since I was a teenager (almost 10 years ago now) and I WILL NOT pay into this healthcare system. It is a tax for simply living and I will not comply with the law. I refuse to allow the government to tell me what I can, or cannot have.

My favorite quote about the healthcare law came from Sarah Palin at the CPAC conference earlier this year:

I do not like this Uncle Sam, I do not like his healthcare scam.

I do not like these dirty crooks or how they lie and cook the books.

I do not like when Congress steals. I do not like their crony deals.

I do not like this spying man. I do not like, ‘oh yes we can.’

I do not like this spending spree. We’re smart, we know there’s nothing free.

I do not like reporters’ smug replies when I complain about their lies.

I do not like this king of hope and we won’t take it – nope, nope, nope!
  • i tried scamming the nhs once, didnt work

(tried getting dem modafinil pills, my gp wasnt dumb, wouldnt give me it )

Ayo you must of done something wrong then cah I could get legal prescribed medicinal herbs and recent one was the codeine I got like last month

I know some corrupt ones that prescribe themselves with all the best ish it's just a mockery lol
  • Health care is pretty good here.
All the basics covered like injuries and surgery. Not feeling well? Many walk in clinics around. Only bad part is because it is free people use the emergency room like a walk in clinic. They get put in priority which helps teach people not to waste dr's time as they keep getting bumped. Getting some stitches or glass removed from your eye you do not need to worry about omg how will I pay for all of this?!1?!

A visit to the dr or er costs nothing. I pay 30% in deductions (not just taxes obviously) and 13% sales tax though feels like something.

An example, wife just had a baby. Only thing that would cost us is getting a private room over night, which was covered by my work.
  • I had to pay $1200 for 2 shots of collagen in my right middle finger and right ring finger to help with trigger finger.

I was like WTF is this??! It was only at the walk-in health clinic, was only there for 10 minutes, 1 doctor and 1 nurse and 2 shots of collagen = $1200.

Ive never waited 6 months for surgery and nor does anyone if it will kill them. They are prioritized or sent to another hospital.

Also how did this become a new thread? Damn Moderators... making one of my posts an entire thread.
