A long-ish silence is actually a great occasion to say "sorry, I just can't get over how beautiful you look", but that's if you're a guy.
I don't really have that many speech patterns, conversations should happen naturally and not be forced, and if there's nothing to talk about (anymore or at all), a smile is usually just as effective.

That's not a date, it's a pick-up, talking is just a detail in this case. -

There are plenty of females at this level sadly. Many co - workers who do not find the time to socialize and meet people turn to "dating" sites. @op. I never found small talk that interesting, I always found that dates were about activities. From mini putting to walking down the park / river. Hanging out and playing games or watching movies.
I let the date itself make the topics for me. When we went for dinner I often would look around and make up stories about other people, wife and I still do that lol. It can be a lot of fun. Sometimes it gets really epic and time flies. -

the difference is the time it's take to you get to the final result

Well it depends on the girl or the guy ...
also it takes a lot of time to be rly happy with each other and talking 24/7 without getting bored ( for me it took about a year *_* )
As a girl talking to the guy try to tell him :
what did he do on his day ? then that will give U about more 15 mins of talking :P
if he met or talked to another girl , act like you didn't like that bcuz he will love to see that you are caring about him ( but don't be mad or keep talking in that a lot or he will start to be bored from you xD )
but still I don't know him to tell you more things so we all won't be able to give useful advises without knowing him for sure ...
anyway when you are out of ideas and want him to talk just say : every time I talk but I don't give you a chance so go ahead it's your turn :P xD -

some girls Love someone so much that she dont want do it fast with him, sounds weird but true

There are several stages you have to pass if you want to have sex on that first night imo. There is nothing wrong with that, as long as it is not the intention.
