okay, so im doing a spreadsheet in excel for a friend

its about parking rates

so theres 11 hours in a day
1 hour costs 4 dollars.
2 hours cost 9 dollars
3 hours cost 15 dollars.


what is the maximum amount a person could make if the parking was utilized for all 11 hours?

i got 54 dollars, (3x15+1x9)


their boss got $73.

i am 99% sure im right, but am i missing something obvious?

Nope nothing wrong with yours O.o I did it once with my mind and then with calculator xD and same result 54 ...

1 hour 1 minute costs $9

9*10= $90 (10 hr and 10 minutes)

50 minutes left 1 hour costs $4

= $94

likewise

2 hours and 1 minute costs $15

5*$15 = $75 (10 hours 5 minutes)

55 minutes left 1 hour cost $4

= $79


also with out more constraints the most profitable would be $4 users who stay less than an hour
