version.ini.

i closed my game , and i wanted to go back on , back every time is says Failed to download version.ini. , could anyone help me , i tried editing it , but it wont let me save it + , every time i will replace it , and start the game , it will delete all the inside of version.ini .

please help

This is the current version.ini, replace it in your folder, be sure your version.ini is not set on "read-only".

i done that , but everytime i press start game , it will say failed to download version.ini. , but if i keep it on read only , it will work but then i have an X-trap error

Sounds like a case of cheats. Be honest and I'll help you..

And yes the version.ini has also had some issues latley but the one you are talking about is different.

i am honest , and i never used cheats before , if i set it on read only , it will work but i will have an X-trap error , but if i dont have it on read only , all the inside of version.ini , will be deleted , i dont know why ;/

Have fun without Cross Fire then mr egebt (untill you figure it out). Does someone else have acess to your pc who might have downloaded a hack recently?

I have the same problem too man the version.ini on patch but when it does work I have the xtrap error too look on my other thread

And did he try any hacks? He could have deleted them afterwards but its best if you do a quick search on your pc, because there are a lot off left over files which modify the way the system works. It also change various crossfire files including the ini file, so it will only run crossfire when the hack is launched.

You see, should have came clean straight away.. Other kids like RCyYan try to bs their way out off it but you know, i'm always 10 steps ahead of the game so i know what's up. :P

I'm not sure of every single path of the files installed on the system since i'm sure the codder changes them every time to get passed x-trap, but you will need to do two things, one of them will be a clean re-install of the game in a new directory AFTER you remove all traces of the cheat and registry entries (if it has made any)

I'll help over TeamView some time later on after i'm finished playing crossfire..

Check there the hosts file, they are most likely modified with websites of Vietnamese Pages or pages like cfpatch.z8game.com, just delete the content and save your hosts. Go to C:\Windows and if you find the name of the hack, delete it's folder.

You Simply Right Click The Version.ini File And Click Property. Check The [ Read Only ] And Save It At Desktop After Put In

Then, You Copy The One At Desktop And Paste It Back In The Folder To Replace The Old Version.ini.
Make Sure The [Read Only] Is Checked To Prevent It From Delete By Something...
