Windows 8 and Button errors

I've been running Crossfire with windows 8 for a little bit now and whenever i am holding shift + tab the game freezes and I have to close it via task manager. I was wondering if anyone had an idea on how I could get this to stop WITHOUT changing my in game controls ( Shift ~ Shift-walking ) , thank you all and hopefully somebody knows how to fix this.
