About to order a i5-4670K for $180.
Don't think there is anything better I could get, right?
AMD FX8350. It can be found under $200 on some sites. Has 8 physical cores and runs like a beast for the price.
It runs better than my i5 2500K.

Well if you like to do a lot of multitasking then the AMD is the way to go. That is why my streaming PC uses the AMD, I also use it for rendering.
I use my i5 2500K for my Gaming PC and other day things. -

don't listen to this guy
unless you are rendering lots of work in applications like cad and film, this will not be better for gaming, the i5 supports more stable temps/overclocking and less power consumption and better performance in most gaming cases, also don't know too many games out there that support 8 cores if there are any.. -

Read my other post.
I have 2 PC's.
Gaming = i5
Streaming / Video editing = AMD -

I will be rendering a little with Sony Vegas, but I do that with my GPU.
And yes, we are talking about under $200, as Staples is currently pricematching Microcenter's $180 i5-4670K -

if you are doing like 4 minute clips for cf or something, it's not going to make a difference, but if you do films by trade get the 8350 -

The main issue here is that he is looking at an intel... so he most likely has a 1155 socket...
AMD wouldnt help him unless he wants to buy a new motherboard too -

I'd go with the 4670K for several reasons.
1. I own one and my opinion is severely biased.
2. Less power consumption, heat than the 8350.
3. Superior performance in terms of games.
4. Better overclocking chip.
5. The AM3+ "upgrade" path is looking dismal these days.
Not to mention if you are getting one for that price, it makes it that much more worth buying. Got mine for $235, so $252 after tax. -

even then i believe the benchmarks between the i5 and 8350 is a difference of +/- 3 FPS for BF4, however the 9*** series AMD lineup does a bit better than the i5 which would be better if you get it on sale for $200, but still the heat is a concern along with power consumption and overclocking, 220W TDP.
