Dissappointing Winnings Pot

This game is so corrupt it makes me gag.

Source: http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/threads/1442478-Top-10-Most-Profitable-F2P-games-(plus-WoW))

2013 Global Revenue for CF: $957,000,000 - $100,000 Pot
2013 Global Revenue for LoL: $624,000,000 - $1,000,000 Pot with several other "qualification" tournaments with thousands of dollars.

Where does Cross Fire's money go? Please ask yourself this! You would think that CF global would at least match LoL considering they made over 300 hundred MILLION more, but instead there is a 90% cut? Un-freaking-believable. How do we as players stand up to this like F me. I am so furious at the Cross Fire owners and developers who clearly don't care about the game or the players. Don't invest money in the game. Don't host quality events. Treat the branches of Cross Fire around the world like second class citizens.

Can someone else wakeup and see that something is terribly WRONG?

You're missing a lot of points in between. Not saying that the prize pot couldn't be larger, but your opinion is skewed.

Those earnings reports are from Tencent.

    A) Tencent ---> Riot Games

That's where the flow of companies end for League of Legends. It's a lot easier to disperse funds/budgets/profits towards Riot and it's expenses.

    B) Tencent ---> Smilegate ---> Neowiz ---> All of the individual region licenses/publishers

There is a lot more to where funds flow through and how its spent. Revenue =/= Operating profit (which is where the prize pot would probably come from). Again, I'm not saying there couldn't be a bigger prize pot, but you need to first correct your information before making comparisons. You can't compare Tencent/League of Legends and Tencent/CrossFire. Two totally different animals.

    https://www.smilegate.com/English/finance.html

In 2012, Smilegate's (Not Tencent) operating profit for the entire world of CF was $164 million. So yes, I'm sure a larger prize pot could be given out but that is pure assumption. There are no figures for this year at Smilegate, public at least. I don't know how they have their finances set up. Just straighten out the facts before going on a rant :)
  • I like rants though.

Makes a little more sense now, I wish they spent more time explaining what you just did. Correct me if I was wrong, but didn't CF have a pot of $250,000 a ways back? Why has it gone down?

Edit: I'm not complaining about this version. I complaining about all the CF versions pool their resources for their global match.

Because your 100,000 dollar prize pot is twice a year.

Also, LoL has a more global appeal. It needs higher prizes to appeal to the more affluent nations / regions. 100,000 dollars is an incredible amount to most Asian nations -- which is where the majority of CrossFire's popularity lies.

    wdf racist
  • A three hundred million dollar disparity between the two licencing companies is still an abnormous amount over LoL.. I feel like youre approach to justifying that is biased, look at LoL's efforts in, not only advertising, but avid content update, database, inernarional LAN's (with immense publication and prize pool). There is no doubt that looking at these stats anyone can tell there is a lack off ingenuity in this game.. Like come on... Lets drop random VIP's once a month and make bank but the other critial aspects of this game like scripting, reg, map content, advertisment, and many more pass in peripheral.

    Edit: @mod polleus
  • the pot seems fair to me

it's proportional to the level of investment required by the participating players/teams

    Your -LOGIC,

Having less than 30 teams that play in cf competitively; including pub teams versus LOL which probably has thousands

    GOOOOOOOOOD

    good logic is good
  • why would they invest in the competitive community if they don't get something out of it.

LoL having all these tournaments and leagues advertises the game. CF won't succeed in NA.
