4th gen intel owners

  • Like you said the Asus, when I had my gaming rig, I was fairly new to overclocking had failed with other computers but with the Asus it was fairly easy, pretty much the only brand I have owned since then so my opinion is bias lol. I would consider MSI to be second, gigabyte, I have heard hit or miss, but that is with their budget mobos, I never trusted their products to give them a try. But like all electronics you are going to have DOAs.asus has been good to me with customer service, owned a desktop, videocards, mobos, and laptops from them, all needed warranty work and was taken care of fairly fast, YMMV though depending on what rep you get. They even replaced my laptop 1 month out of warranty.
  • I have an asrock extreme 4 but i would go with the asus. They're known for being the best z87 motherboard producer.

I've only bought one motherboard prior to this and that was an MSI AM3 board. I know several people who have Asus boards, from Z68 to Z77 to Z87 and none of them have had any issues (not to say that my situation will be the same.) Hopefully it is, though.

Precisely why Asus would be my first choice, it's clear they have the hold on the Z87 market.

  • I have the ASUS Z87 Pro motherboard and a Intel i7 4770k processor.

No complaints about either. Very reliable thus far, plug and play, and the overclocking potential is definitely there.
  • Never buy an ASUS motherboard unless you can buy yourself a new one in case it dies. The RMA service is awful. If you try it, you'll not only waste your time, you won't get your issue fixed. My board died 5 months ago, and I'm still trying to get it fixed. Heres a good example.
EDIT: Just recieved a brand new motherboard in box from them. Only took half a year but in the end they fixed it.
