Welcome to E8 - Competitive CF
Welcome to E8/
Competitive CF
If this is your first time playing competitive CF or a 4+ year veteran, then this is the place to find all you need to know about the current meta rule-set.
For years CrossFire North America has seen many tournaments come and go, yet many of them have been ran with the same rule-set. That being WOGL, WCG, ESL, CFS, OCG, ESG, and many more.
To help current and new players know what the standard rule-set is here is an overall list of what is expected once you're in E8.
So first off, if you are looking to expand your skills and want to test them out then hop on over to Echo 8 (Server - Echo / Channel - 8). This channel has been a dedicated place for all of our competitive players to Pub, Scrim, or to have matches in for years.
Now there are people out there that think just because its a competitive "Pub", or a "Scrim" that it doesn't matter. Well it does. It matters a lot because if you want to improve and test your skills with others that are on the same level as you, then you need to start acting serious.
"But oh, its a pub and we can do whatever we want!". If you want to be in a pub game and use whatever you want, then go to Alpha or some other server.

Ruleset taken from various sources
If there is a majority vote to have something changed please let it be known.
The reason behind this ruleset is to help other improve and to know what is going on. If you one day find yourself at an international event, then the rules above are going to be standard, thus is why using the proper weapons and items now will help you in the long run.

Just to let you know armor is used in all international tournaments, that's why you see many people using ak's. Also you don't own this game or anything so anyone that wants to use armor and play with a zp gun they can. It's up to the people in-game to see if you want to kick him or anything. -
Errors that need to be fixed:
1: Pubs- You can use whatever you want in them. They are used to play for fun or to work on your shot. They have head armor? Great! Hit the head twice. Makes you better. Because at INTERNATIONAL, they allow armor. So don't be complaining. Aim better.
2: RuleSet- The only "ruleset" thats official is whatever is established between the teams. Generically, its the WCG ruleset. -

I don't go around posting screenshots and claiming I'm the best when I go postitive in a pub or barely beat a below average team. -

yea with the already low probability of either of those happening, when it does you forget to press the screenshot button
oh well it happens, dont worry about it -
The whole "It's just a pub, I can do what i want" is totally correct lol. Players agree to follow tourny rules in scrims (and are forced to follow them in matches) but as far as pubs go, there aren't rules or anything. Echo has SCRIMS, MATCHES and PUBS. The pubs are just with the competitive community, it's just been misunderstood by players newer to the scene who come in expecting everything to be GP and complying with most tournament rules. It's a pub, it counts for nothing and for the most part, E8's pubs are just for killing time until you scrim.

The competitive standard is armour with Deagle and Colt only, to name a few on this thread OP. Outdated rules are outdated.. If you're playing against high pingers Armour is almost essential so prepare like you would a match and use it because armour is the standard, regardless of insolent altercations. I break the rules all the time using the p228 on E8 and quite frankly I think it should replace the Colt
