Muting chat?

My suggestion is to mute the chat of players who are abusive verbally because they can't control their temper. Some players become angry and mad when other players kill them or mutate them and they start insulting. If they are reported they should just have their chat muted so they can't chat. The first mute should be 3 days then 7 days, 1 month, and then permanent. It might improve the community, slightly.

3 days is waaaaay too much for 1st bann. And there should NOT be a perm bann either.

I think its a good idea but only 12-24 hour mute if fine. No more than 3 days its way too much.

Or a bad word that has been said gives a five minute chatban. Off course the current censor files should be updated first.

Or..... just block the person.

Seen this work well in various games. It would be an issue since the current cuss filter is amazingly bad.

isnt that why they put in game player chat block in the options by pushing esc
or you can just turn off chat all together. cuz text is just a distraction
