A few years older and a million or so cash to get the life I want started.
I don't see the point of going from 0 to 100 without working for it, so I'd rather just be.. appropriately prepared. -

well i have liked accounting since i was a small child, i figured i wanted to do it in a way where i could help others, and forensic accounting seems like a solid option if it means putting people behind bars, which in many cases it can. especially with the law firm i have currently acquainted with, i could see myself doing it for free, i mean there are other careers i would enjoy, and i do not plan to do accounting for the rest of my life as i could probably retire pretty early and just work part time. i just happen to choose accounting because it is something i could see myself doing if i had to work till a very old age, couldn't be outsourced, can't be replaced necessarily by technology, (as it leads to many fields of work, not every accountant counts beans), and with a good economic outlook and pay, not to mention it is a subject that i have excelled in. most just think i am doing it for the $$ and because i am "good with numbers." however, it is definitely more than that for me. in a way it is a dream for me, because it can lead me to my other goals if i retire early, which is more of a hobby than a career, wildlife photography/landscapes etc, the equipment is just too expensive for little pay, job market it is rather small and competitive, i just couldn't see it working out and see it more as a hobby anyways.
also i forgot to mention, that i do sort of do "accounting" for free, i do volunteer at non-profits when they need help with their fiscal closing and also go to impoverished areas to help people file and give information regarding tax returns
