online friends problem

Hi,
i have add some friends and even though they are in and the play the system have them as offline always..is there any patch for this problem?

it's been like that a long time >.< sum times ppl. on ur friends list will B online & it'll not show that at times, soz what I like tuh do is just "F3" for --->friend chat while in lobby & see if their on that a way
