Scheduling Discussion - INPUT PLEASE

The way we currently have the rules, we are going to allow you to schedule 2 games a week for ANY day of the week. With this format, the default days would be the "last resort" days should teams not be able to agree on a date/time. For example:

Match Week = Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

You would be able to schedule your 2 games per week for ANY days during a match week. Should you and your opponent just NOT be able to come to an agreement, your match will default to a set day (to show up and report a forfeit win/no show). We want Match 1 to be one day and Match 2 to be another day (i.e. Match 1 Default Wednesday at 9PM & Match 2 Default Thursday at 9PM). We'd prefer the two days to be close to each other, only one or two days apart (Examples: Tuesday/Thursday, Wednesday/Thursday, Thursday/Saturday, Saturday/Sunday, etc.)

Our question is what are your 2 preferred DEFAULT days of the match week?

Remember the DEFAULT days are more of a "Last Resort" should you not be able to agree on a match time.

Match 1? Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday / Friday / Saturday / Sunday

Match 2? Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday / Friday / Saturday / Sunday

You should place the default times on weekends, and the logic is fairly simple. People tend not to work on weekends, and schools tend not to have classes on weekends. While Slaya's point has merit, players are less likely to have times arise where they can't play matches on weekends than during weekdays.

That said, I would be okay with a 1-weekend and 1-weekday setup. However, my schedule doesn't permit me to get off work/school until 9/9:30EST on a fairly frequent basis come matchtime, so I'm admittedly biased on my past frustrations with weekday times.


The times should be 1 Sunday (mid-afternoon to evening), and 1 Saturday (mid-afternoon, to avoid complications for Saturday's evening plans / recovering from Friday's late-night plans).


If you insist on a weekday time, it should be Friday evening. Barring a Friday / Sunday setup, it should be Thursday night.

Match 1 - Wednesday/Thursday: Why: Middle of the week, I wouldn't want to be 'forced' to stay at home to play a match instead of drinking/working on the weekend.

Match 2 - Sunday: Why: Obvious reason, flexible.

Just don't ever do a Friday/Saturday combo. God that was awful.
