Respect the elderly!

As some of you may know, I do volunteer work to elder people who are suffering from dementia.
I was working this evening and something happened. When I was escorting an old woman to her sleepy place, she started to hug me and she said:'' thank you so much for your help'' ''you people are so sweet and kind for me''
while her head was below my head and how she took my hand and grabbed them as if she was scared that my hand would run away. :o
so I replied with a big but closed smile: ''but mem, this is my job, i give all that i can do''
the woman almost cried of happiness. as if I was giving a homeless kitten a home and love.

of course these people are barely alone and even their children visit them, but thats not enough. They just feel so lonely. The power of her loneliness was something I felt on that moment. Because i dont have a good relation with some of the people I work with, which makes the work i do very hard. But the people you work for gives that motivation to continue and makes you feel bounded to the job.
it's so sad for them.

I do respect the elder people. An old grandpa you see looks worthless and boring, but he might have given his life for this country!
Think about it.
