You can download CF with windows 8 ( altough it can give several errores ) / 7 / XP and Vista
( system requirements for CF : http://crossfire.z8games.com/downloads2.aspx )
It is normal that CF gets some corrupted files or crashes with windows 8 since it is fairly new. You should send a ticket via support reporting your problem.
