ESG CFS Qualifier: Restarts Rule Change
Effective immediately, we are going to be adding a rule regarding game restarts.
In the event of a disconnect mid game, each team will only be granted 2 restarts per game.
This has been occurring way more than 2 times per game, and it absolutely kills team momentum.
We advise the final 3 teams to have subs on standby in case of a disconnection issue. The way I would go about this, is have a sub sitting idle in the room in storage, and if he is needed he can join the game immediately.

We're really going to be stressing this rule from here on out.
So please, if you know that disconnecting is going to be a prevalent issue throughout the duration of your match, have a sub on standby or necessary action will be taken when the two restarts are used. -
so wait if we start getting destroyed a team member can leave and we can restart twice/game? nice -.-
edit: I don't think a teammate disconnecting due to a personal problem(internet/computer issue) should validate a round restart. Why not just require people to take SS of the crossfire error or w/e? -

It's obviously implied that it's in the event of a game disconnect beyond the player's control. We're not supporting the action of people leaving to kill game momentum on purpose, clearly. We're trying to prevent it. It happens far too often, so this will help alleviate the delays experienced. -

what am i not understanding? Unless there is something already in the rule set that doesn't allow this to happen(i'm not familiar with the established rules) -

You have to take into account that restarts are going to be somewhat of a commodity now, so I don't think it would be used maliciously. Keep in mind that restarts only apply to rounds not the entire game itself.
If restarts are being abused, then we will evaluate that amongst other administrators. -

how can you tell if they're leaving due to an actual disconnect compared to closing the game? -
You can only restart the round if the disconnect occurs and players leave before any damage was dealt. I don't know if you understood that, I'm assuming not.
I agree it would be stupid if they were down players and were able to just disconnect and restart the round. -
