CFS ESG Qualifier Finals Information

We're down to 3 teams in our event,
Here is some information you might want to know!


The lower bracket finals will be held at 7 PM EST. calibre1 Will face off against TechPlay in a Best of 3 Series. The maps will be Sub base, Ankara, and Port for the tiebreaker. The loser of this match will take home 3rd place, and the winner will advance to the Finals.


The Grand Finals will begin around 9 PM EST. Kanata has already secured their spot, as well as gaining a map advantage for winning the upper bracket.


This match will be a Best of 5 Format, (With kanata starting 1-0). Kanata will also get to ban 1 map they DO NOT want to play out of the 5 maps. (BlackWidow, Port, Ankara, Mexico, Subbase). The final 4 maps will be picked turn by turn, with the winner of the loser's bracket picking first.


Overtimes will only be 3 round halfs. (First to 4)


Each map/Overtime will have a mandatory knife round deciding sides.


Stream information will posted be on a seperate thread sometime during the day today, so look out for that.

This is how tournaments are/and have been run for a long time. Every other team has lost a match, except for Kanata. Since the other two teams, that have lost, are in the LOWER BRACKET FINALS, the winner will face Kanata in the UPPER BRACKET FINALS.

If you lose in a double elimination tournament, you then enter the lower bracket, but since after the LOWER BRACKET FINALS, there will be no more lower bracket, if Kanata were to lose, they would have no lower brackets to enter.

It is just worded differently. Kanata still has a match to lose, so they are considered to be up one match already on whatever team comes out of the lower bracket. Its really simple to understand if you have ever seen any double elimination tournament... ever.
