The will be two team compete? winner of OCG and ESG TOUR winner?
  • no the winner of OCG and the winner of ESG TOUR will verse eachother and the winning team of the two will go.
  • 2 tournaments, 2 teams....

Last year we had 4 teams.

    What happened?

I have no idea what you mean by this.

Last year we had 4 teams coming from 4 different areas because we were unfocused in our esports efforts. Not to mention there was a lack of anti cheat in some of those cases and a time constraint to make it happen, and a general fiasco to pick the team. And some of the teams weren't involved in the qualifying events, not because they didn't want to be, but because they were unaware at the time they needed to be.

Now that we're officially working with OCG, and are working towards a partnership with ESG as well, we have a much more focused set of competitions.

Why would we arbitrarily hold more possibly unfair, unorganized events just to "increase" the number of tournaments.

The competitive seen right now is tight and vibrant, the teams who want to compete are active and competiting. We're looking to expand that, but it's going to start with OCG and ESG. There is no reason to do something else.

Having it this way means the people who are in the OCG Winter Cup get an added benefit of being able to play for a chance to go to China. And now we have an opportunity to use the second popular competitive group ESG to have an event to determine another spot to go to China, which will then culminate in what should be an amazing match and crossover of both groups + CrossFire.

This gives ESG a chance to sharpen their tournament organizing skills and get teams who missed out on OCG or who prefer ESG as a group a chance to compete for the best things about eSports in CrossFire.
  • i think we should do like two team from each tourny. 1st and 2nd. :)

yea i prefer ESG ( ANTI-CHEAT) VS no (ANTI-CHEAT) BUT it is what it is...some people know some ppl dont but esg will have the real team (best team na winning)..ocg will have one of those (great teams but really suck butt) but its good to see its being running though a real client at least half of it :)
  • Sweet stuff...
But having a final 4 like last time would really bring some hype!

Are you playing in the OCG Winter cup?

If not, will you sign up for the ESG Tournament?

Yeah honestly, this is a ****ing joke. I will be slowly moving to CSGO, this game is pathetic.

I'm signed up with a joke team... Yes I will sign up for ESG, seeing it's the only way to qualify.

I believe it's best to look at it how Saidin said, "The teams who want to compete are active and competing." Therefore, it's reasonable to use the OCG winter cup as one of the 'qualifiers'. If you didn't get your team signed up for the OCG cup there is still the upcoming ESG tournament that you can take part in to take the second 'qualifying' spot.

Either way you look at it teams still deserve more than a 1 day warning. Teams aren't prepared for this especially the new ones. In your case it really doesn't matter.

So a 1 day warning is fair? I guess it's fine with you since you play 8 hours a day anyways.
According to what you said kanata and instinct, the two best teams in NA, are not active and competing? Damn, I can't wait to go to lan, slap you in the face, and get no reaction in return. You're a d1ck riding puss.

Saidin, how will you look your best friends (kanata) in the eyes now?

I play 8 hours a day? Your clearly an idiot. I'm a full time student my state University and play 2 hours at night to get in a few scrims on the days that my team is able to play. As of lately that has been 2-3 days a week.

Andrej, bert, and my self are full time students and Andre is a senior in high school I believe. Bert has a full time job on top of that. Even with our busy schedules we signed up for the OCG tournament just because it's free zp since it's easy to smash any other team including yours that plays frequently. The fact that they decided to make this a 'qualifier' is just a bonus for us. Even if there was three qualifiers and there was plenty of 'preparation time' it wouldn't matter, because it's obvious who the 3 top teams are.

Kanata rarely even gets on to play this game since they have no reason to. There is no Canadian competition for them and they still get on and wreck all the other teams. They should have no problem winning the ESG tournament. As for socks they play almost every night, no reason they shouldn't have signed up for this unless they just couldn't play due to not being able to play on the days of the tournament.

Talk **** all you want. Still waiting for you to make it to a LAN.

What he means is that there were 4 teams fighting for the CF Stars spot, no only 2 like you stated on this thread, I also think it should be 4, top 2 OCG and top 2 ESG.
  • brandoooo wrote: »

You do realize I had a team to go to every lan and the only reason I didn't go was because

    1. Was on vacation for every major tournament in 2009-2011
    2. Qualified in WCG 2011 with my ex sleeping next to me, lost in overtime to jeden, almost made them not go to lan at all.
    3. WCG 2012: couldn't play because my ex didn't let me, still got an offer to join LPK at lan replacing jon.
    4. WCG 2013: got an offer to go with a bunch of people as the 4th team, was in Florida.

I don't think "waiting for me" is the right choice of words since I'll slap the **** out of you. :*

I still have no idea what you're upset about?

This thread was done as a courtesy to players in our active community so they can be prepared for ESG.

Next week we intend on having a very large announcement about how you can sign up for ESG and compete for a chance to go to China.

We have to have a team picked by the first week of January. It just makes sense for us to use the Official OCG Winter Cup as part of the qualifiers in the same way we did last time (to use the current run tournament).

But that doesn't mean the winning team is going to China, that's just plain unfair. So it's great that was have these resources in front of us. ESG is going to run a full on tournament for the teams who haven't signed up for OCG or who weren't active enough to see it.

We're trying to create a positive esports environment, we've been pushing news of tournaments, talking to the teams directly and getting people excited to move forward with amazing competition. We've discussed this with everyone and said that we want to make eSports in CrossFire a viable enterprise for players. IE make it worth their time.

I cannot say for signing up with a joke team (how are you going to look those other players in the eye now that you've called them a joke?) What happened to your regular team? Have you not been enjoying the competition provided by the people involved? What happens when more competition comes out for more viable prizes like tangible goods and real money? What does playing with a joke team work towards this goal?

4 teams or 2 teams doesn't increase your chances of going to China, you still need to win in order to get there. That means you need to play against the best, or be a part of the best team. Whether it's 1 team winner from 1 tournament or 2 team winners from 1 tournament makes no difference.

    Lets say this:
The top 2 teams from the OCG Winter cup will have a match who determines the winner of the winter cup.

The top 2 teams from the ESG tournament will have a match to determine the winner of the ESG Tournament.

Then those 2 teams will face off to see who goes to China.

This is a lose lose situation for us in your eyes if you can't see beyond this fact. We won't be able to change your mind about this competition.

The ESG Tournament is even going to take WCG into account so the top team from Canada (Kanata currently) will get plenty of time to sign up for ESG and be a part of it.

There's so many details about how you can get involved that haven't even been released yet. We're releasing the news about CF Stars because of how quickly the competition needs to take place. Considering we have WCG and Christmas Holiday to consider having a team picked by January is a tight schedule.

As I said before, we're going to release the full on information next week, and the competition will involve the winner from OCG vs the winner from a tournament which ESG will hold signups for.

We're telling you here, now, so you can be prepared for that so that you are in the tournament and competing for a chance to go to China.

The team I am playing for is just a ringer team, none of us planned on taking it serious. We were going to just frag hunt. Regardless i'm not going and neither is anyone who's not in carbon or socks, so none of this matters.

Thanks for the laughs. So what you're saying is that you've had offers to go, but never actually qualified for a spot on your own. Maybe once you get your shot back you'll have a chance at doing so. Unless your ex doesn't let you go. *Fingers crossed*

Hit me up on xfire if you want to continue. ;)
