99 our of 100 times someone in the scrim isn't trying, thus making it inefficient practice on site holds and takes
obviously does not work on your aim as much as a ffa or td would because you're only aiming at others for like 10% of the time you're in a scrim, while in a td or ffa you're aiming about 90% of the time
matches are good practice because generally both teams are 'trying', and you can see what might actually work for LANs
LANs are the best way of practice because you develop insane amounts of chemistry with your team and it's no longer a measure of who peeks first but who is actually the better player -
you're really dumb if you think scrims are efficient ways to practice, especiallly since most teams play to win scrims not to learn from them

It's all in the eye of the beholder. Regardless of if the other team is trying or not, that's not your business nor concern! Teams build chemistry by scrimming together and learning how each of his teammates plays. Along with that it should still be played for fun, that's how friends are made. Who wants to play with people that they don't get along with?
Sure TDM and FFA are great for PERSONAL practice, but for team practice.. It just doesn't cut it. You need to know how to play with your teammates @ every single position that might come up in a match. Scrimming helps with this.
And OF COURSE LAN is the #1, but does this game have constant available LANs? Nope. Take what you're given. -

nah, if im honest 5 rounds is just way to short while it makes the game shorter and obviously far more fastly paced it also loses out on tactical viability as it doesn't give teams as much of a chance to get a read on an opponent and counter their tactics, which can be frustrating for some as well as forcing teams to have 5 starts that work a lot, which is also difficult (excluding picks of course).
you could counter my argument by saying it makes the game harder which is good, but its down to whether the difficulty of the game should be more based around rounds or the teams themselves.
but thats just my opinion, id at least like to see it get tested first in something like a test cup or something.
