is this game going downhill?

I log in to pub and scrim, but it seems like alpha is more empty everytime and echo 8 seems like there is less teams to play with.

  • short answer: no and yes, this game is pretty popular in other countries but this version's popularity is decreasing, mostly due to migration to other versions.
  • I disagree. Last night I was in Echo 8, and I had commented to one of my teammates how many scrims were going on. It was nice to see. If you are commenting on Alpha and pubs, then I would have to say that this thread should be in barracks. :p

echo 8 doesn't pay the bills, if anything, it is a burden in this version, keep banning zp items and it will stay that way, pub life is what keeps it going, and that definitely is being trashed right now
  • Well during the great 2009 October epidemic, there was only 4-5 teams in total that were playing competitive. I would say the scene has improved greatly since then, but it's hitting a decline right now due to school, and the community's hatred for anyone who is starting to play competitive. All in all more people are leaving the scene while less people are joining it.
  • Well with cheating foreigners in every single room I can't imagine why this game is going downhill... not that I even play it actively anymore. Cheats are as bad right now as I can remember in a long, long time. Block the third world foreign disease from even registering on this version of CF and 99% of your cheating issues will be solved, promise.

it's going down the hill. 2 more year there will be 2 team play cf. that's carbon and kanata LOL
  • yes it is and will continue to

2013 was the worst year ever for hackers

xcrap patched today and didn't do anything to curb the hackers , it never does

GO PLAY ZOMBIE MODE at least the hackers wont be 360bot killing you

why do you feel the need to say foreigners? just say cheaters, what does where they are from have to do with anything.
  • What do you think if more drafts were held within the community? Maybe that would make more competitive players become active again?

    Just an idea.
  • People want the competitive community to increase, yet when somebody tries on an alt, or a new person comes to the game, he/she just gets rejected by teams and just gets called shit.

Edit: Want competitiveness to increase? People need to ease up instead of being arrogant ego-holics.
  • Or maybe awm, we should all just be nice! But that wouldnt be crossfire. Its not fun unless your trash talking anyone who has a better shot/ hits a lucky shot/ or isnt dumb as a rock!

I wish people would just be nice. ;( It's that simple.

that was more or less escape's fault for letting vsgl die.

    1. Because they are foreigners.
    2. Because I am right.

Unless them being foreigners is relevant, the only thing you accomplish by specifying is making yourself look xenophobic =\

It is very relevant. If I cared enough to prove a point (which clearly I don't need to) I'd record every instance of me running into a cheater and all you would need to do is take note of their ping and/or location by looking up their IP address.

It isn't a matter of xenophobia by any means. It's simply a fact and me being correct, whether you agree or disagree. That's how its always been in this game and probably always will be in this game.

Just because more cheaters are foreigners does not make them being foreign relevant to why they're ruining the game. There was a competitive Brazilian a while ago, no issues with him.

If you specify that they're foreign when trying to explain that they're ruining the game, you make the statement that that them being foreign is relevant to why they're ruining the game. In reality, however, whether or not they're foreign is irrelevant. What's relevant is whether they're cheating. There's 0 reason for you to specify that they're foreign, that's why it comes off as xenophobic.

I beg to differ. However, opinions are opinions. To each his own.
  • Competitive community

If everyone was mature and taking competitive seriously with no trolls and people talking crap for no reason the competitive scene would be 10x better. I don't think it's going downhill. Just not everybody is taking effort in trying to make this community better.
  • Excatly, that's why I don't play cross as much anymore or when I did go on to like e8 you always get **** talked when you land a lucky shot or just outfrag someone.

If More drafts are needed to make this game more active then i think we should do it! =]

well i dont think 10x better. The reason is going down because it's school time.people get online and play on weekends and tournaments. people have works and school to do and more. Not wait until summer. Youguys will see how big crossfire is :)

Also Autumn Assault actually catching people cheat was pretty huge. Made some teams quit, including the legit ones that got screwed by the cheaters. I wonder what Hellninja and Cham Clarity are up to now.

Also VSGL ending early really finished 2 of the best teams this game ever had. I Miss Bio, wonder what that nig is doing too.

Last time I saw him in game was over 3 years ago. I don't use Xfire anymore so I don't know if he still ever logs in, would highly doubt he does. I remember someone telling me he plays LoL and CSS a lot still. I love that kid, wish he would come back indeed.

Are you saying playtex is mature?

OT:Mature enough let you into our teamspeak in which you pretty much acted like a jerk.

OTT: It sucks because the game was recently opened back up in Korea. That country takes professional gaming just as serious as China...so if the game gets big again in Korea then there may be a chance of more international competitions. I like this game, without comparing it to other games, it's a good strategic FPS game, anyone can learn how to play. It's almost the Soccer (football) of the FPS world because it does not take much to run this game even if you aren't getting a stable 200 fps. I don't want the game to die but I don't want this epidemic of cheats and trolls to continue.
