Forum Suggestion: Editing Forum Titles

Basically as the title says we should be able to edit the Topics of the threads we create. Whether if it's because you made a mistake in the title or want to introduce a new aspect into the thread.

So just tell me what you think.

If you edit it with 'Go Advanced' a few seconds after posting the thread it will let you. But I disagree. This isn't needed.

I've needed to do it quite a few times since I started the forums. I just think it's easier than having to contact a mod if you want to change the thread name.

It'd be abused and lead to titles that don't even pertain to the topic, or say a user setting the thread title to, "badword badword badword" and changing it back before a moderator had time to see whilst giving the community a chance to see it.

It's inevitably easier for moderators.

I foresaw that problem. Some viable solutions could be to allow
- One change of the title
- No posts (by other users) can be made at the time of title change

"No posts (by other users)..."
is possible with the way I provided above.

I do believe there's a rather short time window to do it.

I totally agree with Trace here.

Anyways if you need to change a title you can always just ask nicely to an online mod, it shouldn't bother any of us too much.

Doesn't bother me at all. Just thought it might make stuff a bit simpler but I do understand the points you made trace and definitely agree with the basis of them. Whether they could be resolved or not I wouldn't know. There's probably a few better other forum additions that are higher priorities anyways.

I'd still like to hear more feedback though.
